Course Description:
The purpose of this course is to help students in order to improve their writing abilities. In
this subject, it is decided to cover types of essay writing. Different types of essay will be practiced.
Most of the course will follow practical steps in order to enable students in practical writing. In the
first step, a sample will have been done through projector, then enough assignment will be assigned
for more practice. Feedback will have been provided and the final tasks will be graded.
Course objectives
This course will focus on developing student’s abilities in:
Recognizing about different parts of essay writing such as introduction, body and conclusion.
Using transitions, structures, grammar, and punctuations properly.
Practice types of essays.
Course expectation
The course expects students to:
Be on time ( Attendance will be called )
Submit their assignments on due date (Marks will be given)
Be ready to answer the questions about pervious lesson (Marks will be given)
Avoid plagiarism (Three zeros)
Be active and creative (Will be appreciated)
Support and collaborate with others in groups (Marks will be given)
Be ready to give presentation (Marks will be given)
Course Evaluation: Attendance, Participation, and Daily Assignment (20%)
Since attendance is a vital condition for academic success, it will be called at beginning of
the class. No excuses are acceptable for being absent except those who faced serious problems. More
than four absences will cause you to be abdicated from the final exam.
On the other hand, the significant portion of your grade will depend on your participation in
the class. This curse will meet once per session for asking pervious lessons. You are expected to get
full credit for participation. You will have received (1-5) marks on each time and the one who makes
absence on the same days, will have received no marks (Zero).
In addition, to get full credit for your homework, you must prepare portfolio from given
assignments and turned all your home works on due date. You are expected to do all your daily
assignments before the next session and late assignments will not be accepted. By doing all your
homework in proper way and revising the feedback you will get full credit of this portion. Missing
any of your daily home works will reduce your marks which is from (1-5).
Note: Separate Charts is considered to give your daily marks.
Mid- term Exam 20%
Mid- term exam will be based on what you will study during this course.
Final Exam 60%
There will be written exam, you will be expected to re-write essays for academically.

In order to pass this course, each stage of this course will be weighted according to the percentages
below:
Attendance, Participation, and Daily Homework 20%
Midterm Exam 20%
Final Exam 60%
