🐾 Animals – A School Project
Page 1: Introduction to Animals
Animals are living beings that can move, eat food, and respond to their surroundings. They
come in many shapes, sizes, and habitats. Some live on land, some in water, and some can
even fly in the sky. Scientists study animals under a branch of science called Zoology.
Animals are classified into different groups based on their body structure and lifestyle.
Page 2: Mammals
Mammals are animals that have hair or fur on their body and feed their babies with milk.
They are warm-blooded, which means they can maintain a constant body temperature.
Examples: Lions, Tigers, Dogs, Elephants, Humans.
Interesting Fact: The blue whale is the largest mammal in the world.
Page 3: Birds
Birds are animals with feathers, wings, and beaks. Most birds can fly, but some, like ostriches
and penguins, cannot. They lay eggs and usually build nests for their young.
Examples: Parrots, Eagles, Sparrows, Owls.
Interesting Fact: The hummingbird is the only bird that can fly backward.
Page 4: Reptiles
Reptiles are cold-blooded animals with dry, scaly skin. They usually lay eggs with hard
shells.
Examples: Snakes, Lizards, Crocodiles, Turtles.
Interesting Fact: Crocodiles have been on Earth since the time of dinosaurs.
Page 5: Amphibians
Amphibians can live both in water and on land. They have moist skin and usually lay eggs in
water.
Examples: Frogs, Salamanders, Toads, Newts.
Interesting Fact: Frogs can breathe through their skin when in water.
Page 6: Fish
Fish are aquatic animals that live in water and breathe through gills. They have fins to swim
and scales on their body.
Examples: Sharks, Goldfish, Tuna, Catfish.
Interesting Fact: There are more species of fish than all other vertebrates combined.
Page 7: Insects
Insects are the largest group of animals on Earth. They have six legs, three body parts (head,
thorax, abdomen), and most have wings.
Examples: Butterflies, Ants, Beetles, Bees.
Interesting Fact: Honeybees are the only insects that produce food eaten by humans.
Page 8: Importance of Animals in Nature
Animals play a very important role in maintaining balance in nature:
They help in pollination (bees, butterflies).
They control pests (frogs eat insects).
They provide food for humans (milk, eggs, meat).
They maintain the food chain.
Page 9: Animals and Humans
Humans and animals have lived together for thousands of years. Some animals are
domesticated for work, food, and companionship.
Pets: Dogs, Cats, Rabbits.
Work animals: Horses, Camels, Oxen.
Farm animals: Cows, Goats, Chickens.
Interesting Fact: Dogs were the first animals to be domesticated by humans.
Page 10: Conclusion & Future of Wildlife
Animals are our friends and an important part of our Earth. Sadly, many species are
becoming endangered due to hunting, deforestation, and pollution. It is our duty to protect
them. By saving animals, we save nature and ourselves.
👉 Let us promise to care for animals and protect wildlife for the future.
