FEA Training Guideline
➢ We use ANSYS 18.0 for the finite element analysis.
➢ For training point of view first we learn how the software is working. So that follow the
guideline which is given below.
1. Introduction to Workbench
This module give basic introduction of ansys workbench.
•D:\work\17003\working\reports\Ansys\1_Introduction_to_Workbench
2. Static structural user This module give basic information of static structural
interface analysis in ansys workbench.
•D:\work\17003\working\reports\Ansys\2_Mechanical_user_interface
•Introduction to static structural - [Link]
3. Static structural-Engineering This module give information about how to assign different
property properties to material.
•D:\work\17003\working\reports\Ansys\3_Engineering_property
•How to add material in engineer data - [Link]
This module give basic information about importing step files
4. Static structural-Geometry from cad software to ansys workbench.
•D:\work\17003\working\reports\Ansys\4_Geometry

When you open-up the model, you will see the Mechanical user [Link] that you will see the
model information such as: (Document Path :D:\work\17003\working\reports\Ansys\5_Model)

➢ After completion of the training of Ansys software, now we look how to
working/practicing on project.
➢ Following are the steps, which required before starting the FEA of given equipment.
Study Drawing
Preparing Model

Discussion of project with sir, regarding;
• Consider whole model for FEA…? If not….
• Split model in how many division….?
• How to constrain model?
• Regarding load case.
Nozzle Worst Case (NWC) Preparing Excel Sheet; Step file of model
(If Required) • Calculation Sheet • Split surface region in
• Material properties Sheet mechanica if required
• NWC Sheet then step out the step
Add FEA result in Excel file from mechanica.

❖ Following is the path for practice some project in Ansys.
1. In this path all the files are provided which you will require for FEA such as….
(Path : )
• Equipment drawing
• Calculation Sheet
• Material properties Sheet
• NWC Sheet
• Step file of equipment.
• Report of that equipment which was already done.
