El verbo "To Be" en Pasado - Clase de Inglés
Introducción
El verbo "to be" es un verbo irregular que se usa para describir estados, características, ubicación y
sentimientos. En pasado, tiene dos formas:
- was para los pronombres: I, he, she, it
- were para los pronombres: you, we, they

Oraciones afirmativas
Se estructura como:
Sujeto + was/were + complemento
Ejemplos:

Oraciones negativas
Para negar se agrega not después de was/were:
- I was not (wasn't)
- You were not (weren't)

Oraciones interrogativas
Se invierte el orden del verbo y el sujeto:
Was/Were + sujeto + complemento?

Respuestas cortas (Short answers)
Cuando respondemos a preguntas con "to be" en pasado, usamos respuestas cortas:

Uso de "was" y "were" en contexto
- Was se usa con singular (I, he, she, it)
- Were se usa con plural (you, we, they)

Errores comunes
- Usar was con "you", "we" o "they" (incorrecto: You was happy; correcto: You were happy)
- Olvidar las contracciones en negativo (She was not happy puede sonar muy formal, mejor She wasn't
happy)
