HOW OFTEN –‫چند بار‬


How often is an interrogative phrase in grammar. We use how often to ask about repetition
of an action or state.
Note: we use definite and indefinite frequency adverbs to answer the question with how
often.
Some frequency adverbs are: once/one time, twice/tow times, thrice/three times, four
times, five times, always, usually, often, sometimes, hardly, hardly ever, seldom, rarely,
barely, and never.

Q--- How often do you make coffee?
AN--- I make coffee once/one time in a day. (definite)

Kinds of adjective
1-Descriptive adjective---These adjective describe the quality, color, size, shape, condition,
emotion, etc of a noun.
Eg--A happy child.
A red apple.
The old building.
He is a small and intelligent boy.
2-Comparative adjective—used to compare tow people, places, animals, or thing.
Eg--She is taller than shakila. She is taller than her brother.
He is smaller and more intelligent boy than ahmad.
3-Superlative adjective---use to show that one person, place, or thing is the most of all.
Eg--He is the fastest runner in the school.
This is the most interesting book I have ever read.
He is the smallest and the most intelligent boy in the class.

Comparative adjective + than any other


The above structure has the power of superlative degree of adjective or we use the above
structure to show the superlative degree of adjective.
Note—comparative adjective + than any other is followed by a singular noun.
Eg—Tome is faster and more intelligent than any other boy in the class.
Helmand is hotter and bigger than any other city in Afghanistan.
He is more handsome than any hero in this movie.

Either and Neither
Either and neither are adverbs in grammar, we use it to show agreement with negative
sentences.
Eg—structure=1st negative sentence + either.
Ali cannot play the piano. I cannot play the piano either.
Tom was not able to make coffee. Ahmad was not able to make coffee either.
Ali shouldn’t lie. I shouldn’t either.
Structure---Neither + positive auxiliary verb + sub+.
Ali can’t dance well. Neither can I. I don’t like horror movie. Neither do i.
Faheem couldn’t explain the topic. Neither could Sam. He can’t swim. Neither can I.
He doesn’t like cucumber. Neither do I.
Note: while showing agreements with positives sentences, we use the adverb too.

She likes pizza. I like pizza too. They are going to party. We are going too.

Adverb
An adverb is a word that modifies/get information about a verb an adjective and
another adverb.
Eg---Tom drives carefully. She is very attractive. You speak so slowly.

Adverb of manner: an adverb of manner shows how an action. Or we use adverb of


manner to show how someone does something.
Note: adverb of manner answers the question how.
Eg—I am cooking rice deliciously. You broke the mirror intentionally.
She is talking beautifully.
Rules for forming adverb of manner.
1—an adjective with (y) we delete (y) and add (ily).
Eg---crazy—crazily---heavy—heavily---happy---happily---etc.
2-an adjective end with (e) we add just (ly).
Polite—politely---nice—nicely---safe—safely---
3-an adjective end with (ic)—we add (ally).

4—an adjective end with (le) remove (le) ad (ly).

Definition: a noun that receives the action of the verb is called object.
Eg-- The teacher announced the result to the class. Tom is calling ali.
1—direct object—the thing that directly receives the action.

2-the person/thing who receives the direct object.
