Teaching science in primary and intermediate grades fosters critical thinking, curiosity, and scientific literacy, which are essential for problem-solving and decision-making. It also enhances technological understanding, environmental awareness, and opens up career opportunities while promoting lifelong learning and self-confidence. Furthermore, an early foundation in science prepares children for higher education in the field.

10 Reason why it’s important to teach science as early as primary and intermediate

grades.

1.) Critical thinking – For me when you teach science as early as primary and
intermediate grades, make them learn more especially problem-solving skills
and decision making.
2.) Curiosity or wonder – form me this is the time that they will know about
science. Because primary and intermediate grades they are full of curiosity
about the world around them, and science can help them discover so that
they can use it for their future. Because science help their curios mind.
3.) Scientific Literacy – for me involving science as young as primary and
intermediate, help them to develop scientific literacy, and enable to
understand and evaluate scientific information, because they can use it for
their daily lives.
4.) Problem Solving skills- As I said in critical thinking. Problem solving skills
involves identifying problems, gathering information etc. I think this is suit for
them as early as primary and inter mediate, because these skills are useful for
real world challenges.
5.) Technological understanding – I said this because our world is full of
technology. Early exposure on this thing can provide them enough knowledge
of using it, and providing them to understand how technology works and what
it’s impact on our society.
6.) Environmental Awareness - For me science can help children understand the
importance of environmental conservatory, to allow them and develop a sense
of responsibility, so they can avoid and help our planet. Because only science
can help them, so they can identify things that is not right.
7.) Career Opportunities - why I say this? It’s because strong foundation in
science as early as primary, they can use it and open wide range of career
opportunities, because learning science in young age they will gain a lot of
knowledge, and if they want to be a doctor the topic will much easier.
8.) Lifelong Learning – Because for me strong foundation in science can inspire
children to lifelong learners, and they can continue exploring the world around
them.
9.) Self Confidence – For me more knowledge in science can help children boost
their confident and belief in their ability. Because just like myself I am
confident enough if I have knowledge and ability, to do that task.
10.) Preparation for Higher Education – For me learning science in young
age can help children to make them prepared, for their future studies in
science.
