GOUACHE
gouache, painting technique in which a gum or an opaque white pigment is added to
watercolours to produce opacity. In watercolour the tiny particles of pigment become
enmeshed in the fibre of the paper
; in gouache the colour lies on the surface of the paper, forming a continuous layer, or coating.
A gouache is characterized by a directly reflecting brilliance

TYPOGRAPHY
Typography is essentially the art and technique of arranging type to make written language legible,
readable, and appealing when displayed.
It's an essential part of graphic design and plays a significant role in communication. The way a
designer chooses to arrange type can evoke different emotions, set the tone of a piece, and
create a unique style.
As an art form, it is often overlooked, but it plays a significant role in creating beautiful and
effective designs. Whether it's for a poster, a website, or a book cover, typography can make all
the difference in how a design is perceived.

mats, and wood coated with lime.
He used a basic colour palette made of earth tones derived from mud, chalk powder,
flowers and other local sources.
Because he lived through politically tense times of World War II taking place in tandem with
the Indian Independence struggle, Jamini Roy’s art was inevitably inferred with political
connotations.
His strong shift back into authentic Indian influences and techniques against severe
colonial standards, his inclusive art highlighting marginal tribes and mythological
references from multiple religions, and his ideology of selling art at affordable prices, did
irk a significant set of conservatives.
Jamini Roy countered both fame and blame with his art, that continued to be non-
conforming and eventually carved a niche for Indian modern ar
