THE MAN AND THE ENVIRONMENT

By Christian Chaler

Man, since his beginnings, extracts raw materials from nature to build the
essential instruments for the development of your life (wood for fire, stones,
vegetables, etc.) Thus, the different ages in which its history is classified succeeded each other,
Stone Age, Iron Age, etc., up to our days.

The first glimpses of art were observed in the Neolithic (the age following the age
of stone), from where findings of stones that were painted were discovered to
to beautify them, which can be seen as an artistic turn by man, that
until that moment, it only modified its elements in a very rudimentary way and in the
aspect of use.

Spiritual culture can also be observed from prehistory, expressed through

the treatment that man gave to his dead, such as burying them with food which
he made her suppose that she believed in the existence of a post-mortem life.

According to this, science, art, and religion are present in humanity.

since its beginnings, the complexity and diversity of our current society is the product of
thousands of years of effort and work of the members who, generation after generation, were
shaping humanity from its beginnings to the present day.

Since those ages until now, social organization, art, and all aspects
in the man's life changed and evolved, what really motivated that change is
that man, successively and gradually, was developing and increasing his capacity
of reasoning and their knowledge about the nature that surrounds them and of which they are a part
member, which allowed him to solve adaptation problems more easily with
the environment.

The initial relationship of man with the environment was to survive the ferocity and the
unforeseen changes in nature, the problem of today's man is to survive with his
scientific and cultural baggage and its complexity in all aspects, with it, without reaching
excessive aggression situations that endanger ecosystems to the point of affecting the
living conditions.

The relationship between man and the environment is not new; it is a relationship and a
issue that was established from the beginning of man in the world, which continued in
the succession of ages and that will continue forever since man and the planet are
the one for the other related in their existence just like with the rest of the living beings
that inhabit it.

The solution to the environmental problem must be based on a foundation of

social and economic organization that enables the sustainable development of man and
establish a harmonious and balanced relationship with nature. In this dilemma, it is
Of course, the guidelines for relationships are not set by nature; it is man who must.
modify their behaviors to be harmonious and in balance, since nature to which
the man also belongs, governed by its laws it functions perfectly balanced.

The environmental problem encompasses different aspects, primarily the sources of

energy is running out, nature is showing damage of all kinds due to extraction
raw material and damage from the toxic emissions of waste that cover the waters,
air and the earth, plant and animal species are in danger and others have
missing and the most notable and problematic thing is that human groups are disappearing
or are forced to migrate due to issues of pollution or erosion of the
vegetation of their places of origin, these human groups constitute minorities that the
industrial, commercial and/or military activity alters the ecosystems to which they belong and therefore
both their type, shape, and quality of life.

All continents at some point have inhabitants that we could include in this.
group, those who develop their lives in the most diverse and varied expressions but the
common factor that unites them in many cases is the great difficulty to be able to develop, since
lacking the necessary resources and added to the fact that they have a vision of life
totally different from the one that developed countries and the world have at this moment
globalized in general possess, feel disoriented and at a disadvantage in opportunities,
occurring migrations, mortality, deculturation and in many cases where

moral and intellectual that may not be easily recovered in the course of their lives.
All of this could lead to its disappearance if the necessary precautions are not taken in
real and effective way.

Therefore, when we talk about the environment, we are talking about development, danger, and
responsibility, because if the characteristics of human activity do not change
Not only the lives of minorities are at risk, but also those of all inhabitants of the

admissible.

Nature is not something that is easy to destroy, if we inform ourselves about this point.
specifically we would see that nature responds to aggression by adapting, it is not easy
eroding the planet, nature allows a limit of aggression without destroying itself, that limit is
the one that allows the functioning of the ecosystems in which we know there are
extinctions, disappearance of species and alterations of all kinds.

The history of the evolution of life on planet Earth gives us many

examples of climate changes and other factors that caused the extinction of species
on a large scale and other similar phenomena that constituted global transformations
which are characterized by always being part of the process that is part of evolution
the physics of the planet and its humanity.

Therefore, it does not mean that technologically modern society must

disappearing, which is something unnatural, just as man is natural, so too are his
activities and their ventures, but if they fit harmoniously and as necessary
to allow the development of other forms of life, whether plant or animal and others
human groups that have different forms of expression of life.

With the current knowledge that man possesses, in all branches of the
science can determine how to interact with nature without causing harm. It is not
not an easy or simple job, it is a job with multidisciplinary characteristics, of great
movement of knowledge, of trials and errors, of failures and successes until finding
the optimal equilibrium point of sustainable development.

The type of materialistic and consumerist society today, whose goal is to

maximization of economic benefits, we can affirm that it does not satisfy the
development needs of humanity, does not meet the expectations of man and
it causes a loss of the real vision of things, preventing one from seeing the dangers that are generated with
excessive and out of control actions.

In current humanity, there are nations with great differences in development and
knowledge, groups in a disastrous state speaking from a social perspective and
even moral this challenge that man must inevitably undertake can serve
also for the solution of those aspects and others, for example, it can be achieved to absorb
the number of jobs that technological advancements displace with activities
new ones related to environmental protection that can even operate with a
maximizing economic criterion resulting in the formation of new
markets.

The central axis of the movement of current societies is consumption, consumption

it is the one that determines the flow of raw materials, waste, and industries that will be
in operation, consumption is governed by man, analyzing it and quantifying it we see
how societies interact with the environment based on those analyses
control variables are obtained and it can be observed that their values change depending on the
consumption.

The degree of aggression towards the environment is determined by how man manages his
consumption habits, which in turn are determined by the needs of man
it has, basic, necessary, and fictitious and that materially satisfies. Based on this, each
individual action influences society in some way, and in the functioning of
social and economic system forming product markets that are supplied by
industries that may or may not harm nature.

Taking this into account, we see that men's consumption patterns will have to
change to adapt to the acceptable limits of aggression that different ecosystems
they accept, therefore the topic that concerns us "protecting the environment" is a broad topic and
complex that encompasses scientific, social, educational, economic aspects, aspects of
engineering, philosophy, and natural sciences that must coordinate to work together
achieve the sought-after end of sustainable development and growth without aggression to nature.
From the outset, the good will and desire for achievement on the part of humanity is a
basic and essential requirement.
