Good morning, everyone.

For a long time, I was afraid of failure. I avoided anything I thought I wouldn’t be good at,
especially if I didn’t have prior experience. I used to just go with the flow, only accepting what
seemed easy and turning away from challenges. But eventually, I reached a point where I no
longer felt any sense of fulfillment like I was just existing rather than truly living. That moment
pushed me to change. I started stepping out of my comfort zone, and that’s when my real
journey of growth began.

I recently joined several leadership activities in school and stepped up to lead different class
groupings. At first, it was quite challenging because handling a group requires patience and
resilience. I’m thankful for my close friend who always cheers me up when I’m feeling down.
I was more active back in elementary school, but during high school, I became shy and less
involved in leadership. By joining these activities again, I’ve become more patient, a better
listener, and more understanding. I’ve also met new people and, most importantly, learned to
accept failure when things don’t go my way. Additionally, I’ve started reading inspirational
and fiction books to expand my English vocabulary. I’m not only gaining knowledge, but I’m
also enjoying the process.

The reason I’m exposing myself to leadership opportunities, building networks, and reading
more books is because I’m preparing for my future. I want to gain more knowledge and
experiences to become capable and confident enough to achieve my career goals. I plan to
work in the business industry and also explore office roles in the government. I chose this
path simply because it aligns with my course and offers the kind of structured, professional
environment where I see myself thriving—ideally in an air-conditioned office setting where I
can apply my skills.
Personal growth is key to the professional I aspire to be. Through leadership and new habits,
I’ve learned the importance of confidence, discipline, and resilience. I’m becoming more
expressive and confident, which helps me connect and work well with others. The values I’ve
developed—like patience, adaptability, and a willingness to learn—align with career
aspirations in business and government. By growing personally, I’m better prepared to face
the demands of professional life with purpose and determination

So, as I wrap up my talk today, I want to leave you with this: Becoming the best version of
ourselves doesn’t mean having everything figured out or never making mistakes. It means
showing up, trying, learning, and growing—even when it’s uncomfortable. My journey has
taught me that stepping out of your comfort zone is where real growth begins. By saying yes
to leadership roles, surrounding myself with people who uplift me, and embracing habits like
reading and self-reflection, I’m preparing not just for a career—but for a meaningful life. And I
know that every small step I take today brings me closer to who I want to become.
So, I encourage each of you—take that first step. Don’t wait for the “perfect” time. Grow
through the challenges. Embrace your journey.
Keep learning, keep growing—and keep becoming your best self.
Thank you very much.
