Chapter 1 – The Problem and Its Scope

Q1. What is your study all about?

👉 *It focuses on the level of student satisfaction with the food options in the Carmel Academy canteen,
considering food quality, price, variety, accessibility, and service.*

Q2. Why Carmel Academy?

👉 *We chose Carmel Academy because it is our immediate academic environment and where students
rely on the canteen daily. It is practical for us to conduct the study here, and the results will directly
benefit both students and the school administration.*

Q3. What is your statement of the problem?

👉 *The study seeks to answer: (1) What is the level of student satisfaction with the food options in the
school canteen? (2) How do food quality, affordability, variety, accessibility, and service influence
satisfaction?*

Q4. What are the delimitations of your study?

👉 *It focuses only on Junior and Senior High School students of Carmel Academy. It excludes outside
food sources and nutritional analysis of meals.*

Q5. What is the significance of the study?

👉 *It benefits students (better canteen service), school administration (better management decisions),
vendors and staff (feedback for improvement), and future researchers (as a reference).*

Chapter 2 – Theoretical Framework

Q6. What theories guide your study?

👉 *1. SERVQUAL Theory – service quality measured by tangibles, reliability, responsiveness, assurance,
empathy.

👉 *2. Expectancy–Disconfirmation Theory – satisfaction depends on whether expectations are met,

exceeded, or not met.

Q7. How do these theories connect to your study?

👉 *SERVQUAL helps us assess service aspects like staff performance, cleanliness, and food
presentation. Expectancy–Disconfirmation explains whether students feel satisfied or dissatisfied
depending on how actual food service matches their expectations.

Q8. What is your paradigm?

👉 *Independent Variables: Food Quality, Price, Variety, Accessibility, Service*

👉 *Dependent Variable: Student Satisfaction*

Q9. What is your null hypothesis?

👉 *There is no significant relationship between the factors (food quality, price, variety, accessibility,
service) and student satisfaction with food options in the school canteen.*

Q10. What are your assumptions?

👉 *We assume that students will provide honest answers and that canteen services remain consistent
during data gathering.*

Q11. Why did you define terms?

👉 *To give clear meaning to key terms (like satisfaction, quality, variety) as used in our study, so there
will be no misunderstanding.*

Chapter 3 – Research Methodology

Q12. What is your research design?

👉 *We used a descriptive research design, since our goal is to describe and measure the level of
satisfaction of students with the canteen services.*

Q13. What is your research environment?

👉 *Carmel Academy’s Junior High and Senior High School canteen, since it is where the participants eat
and experience the food service daily.*

Q14. Who are your participants?

👉 *Five (5) students will be chosen from each classroom in Junior High and Senior High, ensuring fair
representation of the population.*

Q15. What instrument did you use?

👉 *We used a survey questionnaire adapted to measure satisfaction levels based on SERVQUAL
dimensions and factors like food quality, price, variety, accessibility, and service.*

Q16. What is your research procedure?

👉 *We will seek approval from the school, distribute questionnaires to the selected participants, collect
their responses, and analyze the data using statistical tools.*
