Practical File Questions for class XI ( upto Midterm)

1. WAP to calculate the bill amount for an item, if the quantity sold, value, discount and tax is
entered by the user.
2. WAP to calculate salary of an employee when basic pay is entered by the user, HRA= 10%
of basic, TA = 5% of basic. Define HRA and TA as constants and use them to calculate
total salary as basic + HRA + TA
3. WAP to calculate student’s result based on 2 examinations , 1 sports event and 3 activities
conducted. The weightage of activities is 30% , sports is 20%. Input all marks out of 100 only.
4. Write a program to determine whether the seller has made profit or incurred loss. Also
determine how much profit he made or loss he incurred. Cost price and selling price of an item
is input by the user.
5. WAP to find the ticket fare of the bus as per the code of the bus.

6. WAP to enter employee number, name and basic salary. Calculate the DA, HRA and gross

7. Write a program to calculate the monthly telephone bills as per the following rule:
 Minimum Rs. 200 for upto 100 calls.
 Plus Rs. 0.60 per call for next 50 calls.
 Plus Rs. 0.50 per call for next 50 calls.
 Plus Rs. 0.40 per call for any call beyond 200 calls.
 WAP to calculate parking charges of a vehicle. Enter the type of vehicle as a
character – s for scooter / scooty /bike , c for car/any 4-wheeler , b for bus/truck.
Also enter the no. of hours, then calculate parking charges as per the rates given
below :

8. Accept a number from the user, check and display if it is a perfect number or automorphic
number. A number is a perfect number if sum of its factors including 1 and excluding the
number itself is equal to the original number. Example : 6 = 1+2+3
An automorphic number is the number which is contained in the last digits of its square.
Example : 25 is an automorphic number as its square is 625 and 25 is present in the last 2
digits.
9. Generate Mersenne series (numbers which are one less than power of 2)
1, 3, 7, 15, 31, 63, 127…
10. WAP to print the sum of the following series :
a) 1 + x/1! + x2/2! + x3/3!+x4/4!+… + xn/n!
b) 1 - x/1! + x2/2! - x3/3!+x4/4!+…… + (-1)nxn/n!
c) Display prime Fibonacci number (prime number belongs to Fibonacci series)
d) WAP to display the pattern
