the floor then the locus of its middle point is :
(A) x 2 + y2 = 2.5 (B*) x 2 + y2 = 25 (C) x 2 + y2 = 100 (D) none

2. Find the equation to the locus of a point which moves so that its distance from the point
(a, 0) is always four times its distance from the axis of y.
[ Ans.: 15 x2  y2 + 2 a x = a2 ]

3. Find the equation to the locus of a point which moves so that its distance from the point
(3, 0) is three times its distance from (0, 2).
[ Ans.: 8 x2 + 8 y2 + 6 x  36 y + 27 = 0 ]

4. A straight line moves such that the sum of its intercepts (X AND Y INTERCEPTS)on the axes is 10 . The
locus of the middle point of the portion of the line intercepted between the axes is ______ .
[ Ans. : x + y = 5 ]

5. If the vertices A & B of a triangle ABC are given by (2, 5) & (4, 11) respectively and C moves along the
line L  9x + 7y + 4 = 0, then then find locus of the centroid of the triangle ABC

Ans.: 27 x + 21 y  8 = 0 ]

6. Find the locus of the mean(mid) point of the segment of the line cos a + y sin a = p between the
coordinate axes where p is a constant and a is a parameter.

BAC is 90º, then the locus of the centroid of the  ABC has the equation :
(A*) x 2 + y2 = 1
By
(B) x 2 + y2 = 2 (C) 9 (x 2 + y2) = 1 (D) 9 (x 2 + y2) = 4
