Sir A.

LOGICAL REASONING

Solution

Page 21 is not missing.

Page 43 is not missing.

Page 22 to page 42 is missing.

22-30 = 9 pages

31-40 = 10 pages

41-42 = 2 pages

9 + 10 + 2 = 21

•°• 21 pages are missing.

Or

Count from 22 to 42

Ans: B) 21

Do trial and error. But the clue to the question is that, the new number is subtracted from the old number
and therefore the first digit(tens) should be greater than the second number.

A. 37 & B. 48 are wrong. Interchanging 37 and 48 would make the new number bigger to be subtracted
from the old number

Option C. Interchanging 73 becomes 37.

73 - 37 = 36 (i.e subtracting new number from old number)

Option D. Interchanging 84 becomes 48.

84 - 48= 36 (i.e subtracting new number from old number)

•°•The answers are C. 73 and D. 84.

Sir A.T

Solution

The clue is that, you have to arrange 4 numbers from the highest to the lowest to get the largest 4-digit
numbers.

Largest 4-digit numbers: 7542

Also, to get the smallest 4-digit numbers, you have to arrange the numbers from the smallest to he highest.

Smallest 4-digit numbers: 1245

7542 - 1245 = 6297

Ans: C. 6,297

Sir A.T

Solution

The clue: Find the LCM

The LCM of 5, 3 and 2 is 30.

Ans: C. 30

Or

5, 3 & 2 are factors of 30.

Sir A.T

Solution

Clue 1: The digit in my hundredth column is the square of the digit in my tenth column. Meaning the 1st
digit(hundreds) is bigger than the second digit(tens)

Therefore options A, B, & C are wrong.

Clue 2: If the English is beating you, doing this inversely, 1 square isn’t 3 or 3 square is 1 and therefore
options A, & B are wrong. The second part, ‘The digit in my tenth column is three times the digit in my
one column. Looking at Option C, 9 is not 3 times of 1 and 1 is also not 3 times of 9.

Ans D. 931

Sir A.T

Solution

Total circle = 360°

Divide by 12

360/12 =30

So each hour hand is 30°

4 : 00 = 4 × 30 = 120°

Or

When it is 4:00, it means the hour has been divided into 3.

i.e from 4:00, you move to 8:00, and finally 12:00.

360/3

= 120°

•°• C. 120° istheanswer

Study Emefa’s time graph below and state the year she was born and the age at which she completed
university.

Solution

1. From the graph, Emefa was born somewhere in between 1985 and 1990

Check carefully, the longer bar before 1990 is 1985. The next short bar is 1986, next; 1987 where the arrow
falls. She was heading to 1988 and doesn’t mean she was born in 1988.

So, she was born in 1987.

2. Date she completed University is in between 2010 & 2015. The longer bar after 2010 is 2011 and
not 2012 because she didn’t enter that bar, 2013.

So, she completed school in 2011.

From 1987 to 2011 is 24 years.

2011 - 1987 = 24

Ans: B. 1987 : 24 years

has three story books each with 42 pages, how many days will she take to finish reading the three books?

A. 6 B. 12

C.18 D. 24

3. When a fridge cools water from a temperature of 24°C to -5°C, how many degree has the temperature
gone down?

A. 9 °C

B.10 °C

C. 19 °C

D. 29 °C

Solution

From 24 °C to -5 °C

From 24 to 0 °C is 24 (i.e 24 - 23 is -1 °C)

From -1 to -5 is 5

24 + 5 = 29

So, from 24°C to -5°C is 29°C

Sir A.T

Ans: D. 29°C

is the smallest number of toffees that must be added so that each child has the same number?

A. 2

B. 3

C. 4

D. 5

Solution

Sharing 129 toffees to 12. Each child receives 10 making 120.

Nine(9) toffees remain. Sharing 129 toffees to 12. Each child receives 10 making 120.

Nine(9) toffees remain. To get 12 toffees to share among them equally, we need to add 3 toffees.

Ans : B. 3

Sir A.T

Solution

600 copies

Each box can hold 15 books.

To get the answer divide 600 by 15

Ans: B. Divide 600 by 15

Sir A.T

Solution

From 6 : 20 to 7 : 00 is 40 minutes.

Meaning it took 40/60 minutes.

The clock is a complete circular movement and therefore turns 360 degrees.

40

— x 360

60

= 240

Or

Divide 360 by 60 minutes. It gives you 6. This means that every minute is 6 degrees.

Multiply 6 by 40

= 240

Ans: C. 240

Q1. B

Eg : The concept:

Word Problem: Kofi buys two items at ₵3. If he has ₵6, how many items can he buy.

Ratio & Proportion: A man shares his properties in the ratio 3:5:6 to his children. If the property worth
₵42,000.00. Find each share.
