1. Introduction to Word Processing
Definition: Word processing is the use of computer software to create, edit, format, store,
and print text-based documents such as letters, reports, memos, and books.
Examples: MS Word, Google Docs, LibreOffice Writer, WPS Writer.
Importance: Saves time, provides editing and formatting flexibility, enhances presentation,
allows storage and sharing.
2. Functional Concepts of Word Processing
Creating documents: Blank or template.
Editing: Insert, delete, rearrange text.
Formatting: Change font, alignment, spacing.
Tables and Graphics: Insert tables, pictures, charts.
Utilities: Spell check, grammar check, find & replace.
Printing and Saving: Store in .docx/.pdf, send to printer.
3. Document Creation and Manipulation
Steps: Open → Blank → Type → Save → Edit.
Manipulation Skills: Copy, cut, paste, move text, insert page breaks, undo/redo.

Basic Editing: Insert/delete characters or words.
