4 Microphone Techniques
HT 45 manual transmitter A voice microphone offers you numerous adjustment options for reproduction of the
sound of her voice in the sound system.
Please keep in mind the following instructions to correctly use the transmitter.
HT 45 manual.
You can make your voice sound aggressive, neutral, or sensual by modifying the distance to
microphone.
The proximity effect occurs in the area closest to the sound source (less than 5
cm) and produces a strong emphasis on the bass. It gives her voice a rich sound,
intimate and with many graves.
If you sing directly in front of the microphone, not only will the wind noise be transmitted but
that the plosive sounds (p, t) and the sibilants (s, ch) will also be enhanced.
Feedback
Feedback occurs when a portion of the sound emitted by the speaker is
reproduced in the microphone and returned to the speaker. Starting from a volume
determined (the limit of feedback) this signal is transmitted in a certain way in a circle,
the device whistles and can only be controlled again by turning the volume knob.
This means that it is more sensitive to sounds coming from the front (the voice), while
it hardly receives sounds coming from the side or from behind (for example, from monitor speakers).
You can achieve the minimum feedback tilt by placing the speaker boxes in front.
from the microphones (at the front edge of the stage).
If you use monitor speakers, never let the microphone point directly at the monitors.
or the sound reinforcement speakers.
Accompaniment chorus
No more than two people will be able to sing into the same microphone.
2) Ensure that the sound incidence angle is never more than 35°.
The microphone is more sensitive to sounds coming from the sides. If two vocalists
They will sing with an angle greater than 35°, the level regulator would need to be opened.
the microphone channel such that the risk of feedback would be very high.

NOTE
Make sure to point the microphone towards your mouth.
Windshield
In case of (for example, outdoors) wind noises and pops being reproduced, place the
foam rubber windscreen supplied.
Place the windscreen over the microphone capsule.
Also cover the free end of the microphone capsule with the windscreen.
drain ring
The special drain ring mounted on the microphone capsule makes it difficult for the entry of
sweat and makeup in the capsule.
This prevents the microphone openings from being blocked by sweat or makeup and,
consequently, there should be sound damping or a reduction in the
sensitivity of the microphone. Therefore, never remove the drain ring from the microphone.

As soon as it dries, place it back on the rack and screw it in the direction of the

The cardioid directional characteristic of the HT 45 transmitter's microphone focuses on picking up sounds from the front while minimizing sensitivity to sounds from the side and rear. This effectively reduces the risk of feedback by preventing sound from monitor speakers or other sources from entering the microphone and being retransmitted as feedback. This is particularly important in live settings where multiple speakers and feedback loops can occur, as it helps maintain sound clarity and reduces unwanted noise .
When using a single microphone for multiple vocalists, it's essential to keep the angle within 35° to prevent sensitivity loss from off-axis placement and minimize feedback risk. Each vocalist should be as equally distant from the microphone as possible. If the angle is greater, the gain must be increased, raising the feedback risk. Care must be taken to ensure balanced sound capture and prevent proximity effects from altering vocal clarity .
The PT 45 transmitter features a 3-pin Mini-XLR connector, providing versatility by allowing connections with both microphones and instruments. The availability of balanced and unbalanced audio outputs enables it to interface effectively with different types of audio gear (e.g., mixing desks, amplifiers), which broadens its usability for diverse audio setups requiring varied levels of professional sound quality .
The proximity effect increases the bass frequencies in the audio signal when the microphone is very close to the sound source, typically less than 5 cm. This effect can make vocals sound richer and more intimate. By varying the distance of the microphone from the mouth, users can adjust the vocal tone to sound more aggressive, neutral, or sensual. The effect is exploited to tailor vocal outputs to desired styles and eliminate excessive bass that can cause muddiness in the sound .
Microphone placement and angle are crucial in maximizing audio quality and minimizing feedback. The microphone should be positioned as close to the speaker's mouth as possible to lower feedback risks and should be angled properly to minimize 'p' and 't' sounds, avoiding direct alignment with monitor speakers to prevent feedback. Proper placement and angle ensure optimal sound capture and reduce the need for increased gain, which can amplify unwanted noise .
The LED indicators on HT 45 and PT 45 transmitters serve as a visual status check for battery health. A green LED indicates the battery is functioning correctly, while a red LED warns that the battery will last for a maximum of one more hour, prompting a change. This feature is critical during live performances, as it helps performers or technicians preemptively address power issues without disrupting the show .
Maintaining a clean microphone headset ensures clarity and consistency in performance quality by preventing blockages from makeup or sweat, which can dampen sound or reduce sensitivity. Recommended cleaning steps include removing the windscreen for washing with mild bleach, using a damp cloth to wipe surfaces, and ensuring the drain ring remains intact to block sweat entry .
Setting the Squelch regulator too high on a wireless receiver reduces the sensitivity to incoming signals, potentially decreasing the range between the transmitter and the receiver. This can lead to missed audio signals or dropouts when the reception is weakened but not completely lost. Practically, it is advised to set the Squelch to the minimum necessary level to maintain signal integrity while avoiding unnecessary noise interruptions .
The frequency adjustment capability of the HT 45 and PT 45 transmitters allows users to choose between 8 different carrier frequencies within a specific band, which is crucial for avoiding interference with other devices and ensuring a clear transmission signal. This flexibility is important in environments with multiple wireless systems, as selecting the appropriate frequency can enhance the performance of the audio transmission by reducing the likelihood of 'dropouts' or interruptions in reception .
The integrated antenna in the HT 45 transmitter streamlines the design, reducing the likelihood of physical damage and signal interference common with external antennas. It ensures a consistent and robust signal transmission, enhancing reliability during use, especially in dynamic performance environments where equipment movement is frequent .
