On January 12, 2012, in Baja California Sur, President Felipe Calderón and
Sergio Hidalgo Monroy Portillo inaugurates the General Hospital of La Paz. The hospital
replaces the previous Clinic-Hospital 'Dr. Carlos Estrada Ruibal'. Acting as
delegated Maestro Efraín Gastelum Monrreal as the state delegate of the ISSSTE, in
together with the FETSE and as the Constitutional governor of the State of Baja California

Medical Subdirector Dr. Sonia Orozco Arteaga and administrator Lic. Cecilia Mercado
Ramírez and in the month of April 2013, Pediatrician Carlos is appointed as Director.
