INTRODUCTION
Communication has always been the foundation of human interaction. From personal
relationships to professional collaborations, our ability to share ideas and information shapes
how societies and organizations function. In earlier times, communication was mainly face-to-
face or through written messages, which was often slow and limited by distance. With the rise
of the internet and digital technologies, a need emerged for faster, real-time communication
across different locations. Video conferencing is one such solution that bridges the physical
gap by combining the power of the internet with multimedia elements.
EVOLUTION OF COMMUNICATION
The evolution of communication has come a long
way over the years. In the earliest stage, people
relied on letters and telegrams, which were slow
and often one-way. Then came the telephone era,
where landlines and later mobile phones made
communication faster, but they were limited to
voice only. With the growth of the internet, emails
and chat services became popular, allowing
quicker information exchange, but they lacked live
interaction. In the multimedia era, technologies
allowed us to combine audio, video and data for
real-time interaction. Finally, in the modern age,
video conferencing emerged as a powerful tool that
brings together multiple media formats, enabling
people to collaborate globally while experiencing a
sense of virtual presence.
MULTIMEDIA VIDEO CONFERENCING
Multimedia video conferencing can be defined as a form of real-time communication where
audio, video and data are shared between multiple participants located in different places. It
makes use of multimedia devices such as cameras, microphones and speakers, along with
platforms or software like Zoom, Microsoft Teams or Google Meet. Beyond just video and audio,
it also allows screen sharing, text chat and file sharing, making collaboration more interactive
and effective. Essentially, multimedia video conferencing is designed to simulate a face-to-face
