Title:

Continuous Review of Science Teaching Practice in Alignment with Laws and Ethical
Standards

ANNOTATION

Regularly reviewing personal teaching practices based on existing education laws, DepEd
policies, and the Code of Ethics for Professional Teachers is a cornerstone of my commitment
to delivering quality Science education. As a Science teacher at Batobalani National High
School, I consistently ensure that my teaching strategies, classroom conduct, and professional
decisions are aligned with national laws such as Republic Act No. 7836 (Philippine Teachers
Professionalization Act) and RA 4670 (The Magna Carta for Public School Teachers).
In teaching Grade 10 Science, I make it a point to uphold the highest standards of
professionalism and ethical responsibility. This includes ensuring curriculum alignment,
academic integrity, and equitable treatment of learners during experimental activities,
assessments, and group work. I regularly review and revise my lesson plans, instructional
materials, and strategies to reflect DepEd Orders and updated scientific information from
credible educational sources.
I participate in LAC sessions to deepen my understanding of the laws that govern our
profession, including DepEd Order No. 40, s. 2012 (Child Protection Policy) and RA 10627
(Anti-Bullying Act). These policies guide my classroom management practices and interactions
with students, ensuring a safe, inclusive, and supportive science learning environment.
To further ensure compliance with ethical standards, I incorporate values-based teaching
within science contexts such as environmental ethics, bioethics, and responsible use of
technology highlighting the relevance of scientific literacy to responsible citizenship. I also
model gender sensitivity and respect for diversity in all classroom discussions, experiments,
and group dynamics in line with DepEd Order No. 32, s. 2017.
In line with Section 5 (Professionalism) of the Code of Ethics for Professional
Teachers, I conduct regular self-evaluations, reflect on student feedback, and seek inputs from
my school head and peers to continuously improve. I document these through lesson logs,
reflection journals, and quarterly performance reviews, using the feedback to refine my science
instruction and classroom approach.
By maintaining a habit of ethical reflection and legal awareness, I uphold the core values
of professionalism, integrity, and excellence in science education. This ongoing review process
not only ensures compliance with educational policies but also strengthens my commitment to
nurturing scientifically literate, morally responsible, and lifelong learners.
