OVERALL CONTEXT/
RATIONALE: In preparation for work immersion is multifaceted and centers on
maximizing the learning and professional development opportunities
inherent in the experience. It's not merely about practicing interview skills,
but about strategically preparing for the entire immersion process. The
mock interview serves as a crucial rehearsal, allowing participants to
anticipate challenges, refine their approach, and ultimately enhance their
contributions during the immersion period.
By simulating the experience, it provides a safe space to identify
weaknesses, build confidence, and develop a proactive mindset essential
for success in a professional setting. The feedback received allows for
targeted skill development and a more informed and confident approach to
actual immersion, ultimately leading to a more enriching and productive
experience for all involved.
SPECIFIC OBJECTIVES: The activity aims to:
To assess current professional skills and identify
areas for improvement: This includes evaluating
communication, teamwork, problem-solving, and time
management skills within the context of the specific
immersion. The mock interview helps pinpoint weaknesses
that can be addressed before the actual immersion begins.
To practice professional communication and
interview techniques: This objective focuses on refining
the ability to articulate skills, experiences, and goals clearly
and confidently, simulating the actual interview process and
building comfort in professional settings.
To familiarize the participant with the workplace
environment and expectations: The mock interview can
be tailored to reflect the specific company culture, work
style, and expectations of the host organization, preparing
the participant for a smooth transition into the immersion.
