Apophis
Asteroid 99942, Apophis, was discovered on June 19, 2004 by Roy A. Tucker, David J. Tholen and
Fabrizio Bernardi at Kitt Peak Observatory near Sells, Arizona. It has a period of 323 days and is about
one-sixth of a mile in diameter. It is an Aten asteroid which is projected to make a very close approach to
Earth in 2029, at which point it will move to the Apollo class.
It was named Apep (Apophis), the Egyptian god of evil and destruction who dwelled in eternal darkness.
This is apparently a reference to its projected close approach to Earth—possibly less than 25,000 miles,
amounting to a near-miss.
Astrologically, Apophis has been linked by Jonathan Dunn with death and destruction.
Paul Tibbets, the pilot of the Enola Gay, had Apophis trine Nessus (poison) and Pholus (to introduce
contamination or infection) and quincunx Jupiter (long-distance travel, philosophy).
Thomas Ferebee, the bombardier of the Enola Gay, had Apophis sextile Mars (the military), Saturn,
Pallas (politics) and Don Quixote (taking on the system, travel).
Execution-machine designer and Holocaust denier Fred Leuchter (born February 7, 1943 in Boston) has
Apophis conjunct Mars (mechanical aptitude, aggression) and Juno (human rights, playing a public role),
sextile Venus (values), square Ceres (nurturance) and quincunx Pluto (mass destruction, power).
Demolition expert Jack Loizeaux had Apophis semisextile Pluto and Vesta (dedication) and trine Pholus
(to undermine or weaken from within). Taking down a building safely requires careful placement of
explosives within the building.
Mohammed Atta, the ringleader of the 9-11 hijackers, had Apophis semisextile Mercury (schemes),
Venus (indignation) and Uranus (aviation, extremism) and square Varuna (fundamentalism; setting
oneself up as judge, jury and executioner).
Nathuram Godse, a Hindu radical who murdered Mahatma Gandhi because he objected to what he
considered Gandhi's unconscionable support of Muslims, had Apophis square Hylonome (the cry of the
people) and trine Uranus (radicalism).
Serial killer Richard Ramirez, known as the Night Stalker, who landed on death row, has Apophis in the
second house, conjunct Lilith (marginalized), semisquare Jupiter (the law), square Varuna (presuming to
decide another's fate), and quincunx Elatus (vividly expressed) and Don Quixote.
Kathleen Blanco, former governor of Louisiana, had Hurricane Katrina, the third-deadliest hurricane in
US history, hit her state on her watch and fought valiantly to deal with the hurricane and its aftermath,
often against incompetent federal officials and obstructive political enemies. She has Apophis sextile
Mars (the military), trine Don Quixote and quincunx Uranus (sudden, unexpected things that upset the
applecart).

Apophis conjunct Sun
Apophis is chaos leading to destruction. This dude gets a “zero” when
it comes to asteroids. He has Apophis conjunct Dejanira, too. So,
victimization leads to destruction. If that is not him to a tee, I
don’t know what is! The problem with asteroids and charts is that you
can only fit ten asteroids on each chart. So, one could miss the
Dejanira conjunct Apophis because Dejanira does not show up on this
chart.
Apophis Conjunct Mercury
I found the practical meaning of Apophis from doing charts. I am not
an egghead astrologer. I have to understand the placements from my
heart before I can use them. That is why I do charts as I do. I want
to understand from the owner of the chart how HE perceives his
placements. In this case, Apophis produces chaos in the mind. The
person I know has a very hard time learning and concentrating on
subjects, even though he is very intelligent. Once again, it is not
his fault. It is the hand of cards he was dealt, so to speak.
Apophis connotes chaos and destruction. I have seen just this in a
person with Apophis Conjunct Mercury. The person is close to me, so I
can see it in someone I know, personally, versus a client, whom I know
online. This aspect makes it very hard to quiet the mind. It makes it
very hard to concentrate. It makes it very hard to understand simple
concepts. I could call it the ADD aspect, so you can remember.
This native will, likely, have learning issues such as Dyslexia or
ADD( attention deficiet disorder). It is very sad to see someone who
has a hard time processing intellectual information. I am close to a
person with Mercury conjunct Apophis, exact. He finds it very hard to
plan things, such as if something breaks and one has to go through
many steps to get it fixed. That is just an example, but dealing with
processes is hard. By processes, I mean things that have many steps.
makes for a person who cannot figure out simple things. I have seen it
with ADD and heard about it in autism. James Comey has it–exact. He,
obviously, went to law school and he was the head of the FBI, so he
had to be able to think. However, he does seem lacking in basic wisdom
and he seems somewhat deluded.
This is a big OUCH. The person does have a very hard time in thinking.
His thinking is not clear. His thinking is diffuse. It is hard for him
to go from a logical point A to a logical point B. I am close to this
person. I am very different because I am very, very logical. I have a
Ninth House Gemini Stellium, an opposition void and no squares other
than generational squares. I am a very clear thinker, not to brag,
because it is not my doing. It is the nature of the chart. Apophis
conjunct Mercury is very hard. I bet that if you study the charts of
those with learning disabilities and such struggles, you may find a
prominent Mercury/Apophis connection.
Apophis Conjunct Venus
This is in the chart of one of my beloved clients. All of my clients
are beloved. If I do not resonate with you, I won’t do your chart.
Hence, I love all my clients and, usually, have long term
relationships with them. In this case, love seems to be something that
turns chaotic, through no fault of his own. It is the nature of the
chart energies.
This native has a love life that never seems to work, through no fault
of his own. Apophis is one of the “baddies”. It infuses chaos and
destruction into that which it touches. I do not, usually, watch
transits, but I have seen Apophis in transit conjunct natal Jupiter
and death resulted. I do not like to watch transits because I think it
is easy to become obsessed with them. In other words, if you have bad
transits, you expect a bad day. However, if a day is REALLY funky, I
check transits to see the reason and there is, always, one.
seems to indicate relationships which never work out for the native.
Remember that asteroids must be very close–exact to three degrees in a
conjunction. In other aspects, I allow a two degree orb. However, some
astrologers only allow for exact aspects.
I admire this man so much because he could embrace a great deal of
truth and stay standing( and still like me, too) I asked him if his
love life seemed to destruct in ways he could not control. This was
the case. Venus is all forms of love from love to a mother to love to
a spouse. When something touches Venus, it touches the part of us that
loves. There are sad things in every chart. There are gifts, as well.
Some people only want to hear the good. These people are not the right
clients for me. I am very honest and will not compromise on this. For
this, I am very hated and very loved. However, I love when people are
honest with me, so hope I am providing a gift by being honest.

He did not share with me as much as most of my clients do. Some
clients are very chatty and share their lives with me. Some, like this
young man, a Scorpio, keep their cards close to their chests. I got
the sense that Apophis played out in his life. However, I do not know
the details.

I just spend a great deal of time on the natal chart of Jeffrey
Epstein. He has Apophis conjunct the Sun. In his case, he has 5 other
killer asteroids conjunct his Sun, too. Speaking only of Apophis, I
can see why Jeffrey lived a totally chaotic life which led to
destruction. If you have Apophis conjunct anything, be careful.
Apophis conjunct Mercury
does not know his proverbial derriere from his elbow. Prince Harry has
it, as does James Comey. Their thinking is “off”. They cannot see long
term consequences well. Harry married a psychopath. James Comey went
on numerous talk shows when he was “guilty as sin” and should have
known to stay home and hide under a bush.
Apophis conjunct Venus
has a love life that does not work. It is beset by chaos, no matter
how hard he tries. It is just the stars, Dude, and not your fault.
