Safety Measures
While BhaktiFest is completely youth led and run, for safety
reasons we will have various adult volunteers supervising
attending youth at all times. All volunteers are equipped with a
Working with Children's Check as mandated by the NSW
Government, and include a select group of trained
professionals.
We have a number of safety measures which will be
incorporated to ensure a smooth event. This includes:
24/7 supervision of all youth to ensure the safety
24/7 Emergency Phone number line for all parents to contact
us
Gender segregation within accommodation groups
Mature BhaktiFest Team leaders in all groups to ensure a
positive environment
Adherence to all child protection regulations of the NSW
Government and ISKCON

08 Rules
RULES AND REGULATIONS
1. Participants are expected to uphold the values of compassion, respect, humility, and
devotion central to ISKCON teachings. Attendees should foster an atmosphere of spiritual
growth, learning, and camaraderie.
2. All participants should treat one another with dignity and kindness, regardless of
background, gender, nationality, or belief. ISKCON promotes an inclusive environment
where everyone feels welcomed and valued. Discrimination or exclusionary behaviour will
not be tolerated.
3. To ensure a safe and respectful environment, the following behaviours are strictly
prohibited:
a. Use of offensive language, gestures, or behaviour.
b. Engaging in violence, threats, or any form of intimidation.
c. Wilful damage to property or personal belongings.
4. The consumption, possession, or distribution of alcohol, tobacco, or any substances is
strictly forbidden. Participants are encouraged to maintain a pure state of mind and body
throughout the retreat in accordance with the regulative principles.
5. Disruptive actions that interfere with the retreat’s activities, spiritual practices, or the
well-being of others are not acceptable. Participants must adhere to the daily schedule
and show respect during all sessions, including kirtans, workshops, and lectures.
6. Participants are expected to wear modest and respectful attire that reflects the spiritual
nature of the retreat. Clothing should be comfortable yet appropriate for temple visits,
meditation, and other activities. Avoid revealing or offensive clothing: half-sleeved or
longer, skirts and shorts should be below the knee, and pajamas should not be worn to
workshops, lectures, or in temple rooms.
7. The retreat facility sits on sacred land. Participants are required to:
a. Treat all facilities with care and respect.
b. Follow cleanliness and waste disposal guidelines.
c. Use property, including instruments and spiritual items, responsibly.
d. Failure to do so may result in additional charges as deemed appropriate by the
organisers of the event.
8. Participants are responsible for their own belongings, behaviour, and well-being. Maintain
personal hygiene and cleanliness. Be mindful of your actions and considerate of others. If
you notice any issues or concerns, inform the coordinators promptly.
