All bags must be left at the indicated place.
The lab timetable must be strictly followed.
Be PUNCTUAL for your laboratory session.
Noise must be kept to a minimum.
Workspace must be kept clean and tidy at all time.
Handle the experiment kit and interfacing kits with care.
All students are liable for any damage to the accessories due to their
ownnegligence.
Students are strictly PROHIBITED from taking out any items from
thelaboratory.
Students are NOT allowed to work alone in the laboratory without the
LabSupervisor
Report immediately to the Lab Supervisor if any malfunction of the
accessories, is there.
Before leaving the lab Place the stools properly.

EXPERIMENT NO: 1
Aim: To establish connection between two end Devices.
Apparatus Required: CISCO packet tracer Software.
Procedure:
1. Open the cisco packet tracer software.
2. By default, a logical work space will open, Click on end devices displayed on the
cisco packet tracer page.
3. Select the generic option which will provide two pcs (PC0, PC1).
4. Connect PC0, PC1 with connection lines provided in the system.
5. Configure the IP address of both the pcs with IP address 20.0.0.4, 20.0.0.5.
DIRECT METHOD
o To send message, select the message icon from the ribbon above the work area,
click on the sender pc first and then the select the receiver pc.
o Click on the small arrow on the right side of the bar below the real time and
simulation tab selection to open the status window.
o It will show Successful setup of pc (PC0, PC1) with ICMP protocol.
SIMULATION METHOD
o After the deletion of first method click on the right-side corner where simulation
option is available and select simulation option.
o Click on the edit filter and remove all selected filter and click on the ICMP
protocol option.
o To send message on both the pc with the help of drag option and click on the auto
capture option which will show all the result of message transferring and receiving
with successful link connection.
COMMAND PROMPT METHOD
o Configure the IP address of both the pcs with IP address 20.0.0.4, 20.0.0.5.
o Click command prompt and provide information.

Aim: To establish connection between two or more end Devices using a hub and a
switch.
Apparatus Required: CISCO packet tracer Software.
Procedure:
1. Open the cisco packet tracer software.
2. By default, a logical work space will open, Click on end devices displayed on the
cisco packet tracer page.
3. Select the generic option which will provide 3 pcs (PC0, PC1, PC2).
CONNECTING USING A HUB
o Select a hub from the network devices option.
o Connect PC0, PC1, PC2 with the help of connection lines to the hub provided in the
system. Configure the IP address of both the pcs with IP address 20.0.0.4, 20.0.0.5,
20.0.0.6.
o To send a message, click on the message icon.
o The simulation will show the successful process of message transfer and the status
window can be checked.
CONNECTING USING A SWITCH
o Remove the hub using the cross icon.
o Select the switch option from the network devices.
o Connect the PCs with the switch using the connecting lines.
o The green arrows on the lines depicts the successful connection.
o To send a message click on the message icon and then select the sender PC first and
then select the receiver PC.
o The simulation will show the successful process of message transfer and the status
window can be checked.

EXPERIMENT NO: 06
Aim: To establish connection between clients and server using DHCP model.
Apparatus Required: Cisco Packet Tracer Software
Procedure:
1. Open the cisco packet tracer software.
2. Select a server, switch and client PCs from the menu.
3. Click on the server to open menu, select the configuration tab, fast Ethernet
option and enter the gateway ip address as 192.168.1.1.
4. Select the on radio button in the service option to turn the DHCP.
5. Now select the services tab and enter the gateway address in the default gateway
tab and also enter the desired ip address start in the boxes and the maximum
number of clients.
6. Click on the save button to save the settings.
7. Now connect the server to the switch, then the switch to all the PCs.
8. Now select the DHCP option from the global settings menu from configuration
tab of all the PCs, to assign the default gateway ip address.
9. To check the connection send a message, the connection is successfully established.

Result: The connection between several clients and server has been successfully established
using Dynamic host configuration protocol in the Cisco Packet tracer software.

EXPERIMENT NO: 07
Aim: To establish the connection two different networks using a router.
Apparatus Required: Cisco Packet Tracer Software
Procedure:
1) Open the cisco packet tracer software.
2) Select client PC from end devices, switches and router from network devices.
3) Click on the router to change its configuration, first click on the router than go to
configuration section under it select Gigabit Ethernet0/0/0 and write the IP address
similar to the 1st network Id, along with selecting the ON click box , similarly go to
Gigabit Ethernet0/0/1 and write the IP address similar to the 2nd network Id, along with
selecting the ON click box.
4) Now change the configuration of all the client PC’s by setting their IP address
respective to the their network Id and also provide all the PC’s with default gateway
similar to the Router IP address of respective networks.
5) Do the same for all the client PC’s.
6) After completion check all the connections.
7) Now send a message from one PC to another.

EXPERIMENT NO: 08
Aim: To establish the connection between two different networks using two routers.
Apparatus Required: Cisco Packet Tracer Software
Procedure:
1) Open the cisco packet tracer.
2) Select client PC’s from end devices, 2 switches and 2 router from network devices.
3) Click on the router’s to change its configurations, first click on physical, switch off the
router and then select NMI-2T port and place it on the physical vacant space of the router
and again switch on the router.
4) Now change the configuration setting by putting the IP Address of the 1st network in the
Gigabit Ethernet 0/0/1.
5) Now you can see the serial 0/0/1, put the IP Address of other router you want to connect it
with.
6) Switch on all the settings of Gigabit Ethernet 0/0/1 and serial 0/0/1.
7) Follow the same for the second router.
8) Connect both the router with the desired cable.
9) Now change the configuration of all the client PC’s by setting their IP address respective to
the their network Id and also provide all the PC’s with default gateway similar to the
Router IP address of respective networks.
Do the same for all the client PC’s.
After completion check all the connections.
Now send a message from one PC to another.
