1) Write a report on “Dengue Fever”.

Dengue Fever Spreads Alarming in Bangladesh

Name/Staff Reporter, Dhaka, 21 October: Dengue fever has taken an alarming

turn in different parts of Bangladesh, especially in Dhaka and other major cities.
According to the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS), hundreds of
patients are being admitted to hospitals every day with dengue symptoms such as
high fever, severe headache, and joint pain.
Medical experts say the Aedes mosquito, which breeds in stagnant water, is
responsible for spreading the deadly virus. The recent heavy rainfall and
waterlogging have increased the breeding grounds of mosquitoes. As a result, the
number of dengue patients has risen sharply this season compared to previous
years.
Hospitals in Dhaka are overcrowded with patients, and doctors are working
tirelessly to provide treatment. The city corporations have already started mosquito
control programs by spraying insecticides and removing stagnant water. Public
awareness campaigns are also being carried out through television and social
media.
Health officials have urged people to keep their surroundings clean, use mosquito
nets, and cover water containers. Citizens are also advised to seek medical help
immediately if they experience dengue symptoms.
The government has assured that all necessary steps are being taken to control the
outbreak. However, experts emphasize that only active participation of the public
along with proper urban management can prevent such outbreaks in the future.
2) Write a report on “Graffiti Permission”.
Graffiti Permission Granted after the July Revolution

Name/Staff Reporter, Dhaka, 21 October: Following the historic July Revolution,

the government has granted official permission for graffiti art in public spaces as a
symbol of freedom and social expression. This decision marks a new era for the
country’s youth and artists, who had long used street walls to voice their hopes,
struggles, and revolutionary spirit.
During the revolution, graffiti played a significant role in spreading awareness and
inspiring people to unite against injustice. Slogans, portraits of national heroes, and
messages of unity were painted across city walls, turning the streets into a visual
record of the people's movement. After the revolution’s success, many citizens
requested that these artistic expressions be preserved instead of being removed.
In response, the authorities have legalized graffiti in designated areas, including
public squares, schools, and cultural centers. Artists can now apply for official
permission to paint murals reflecting themes of independence, equality, and peace.
This move has been widely appreciated by the younger generation, who see it as
recognition of their role in the revolution. Many believe that this permission will help
maintain the revolutionary spirit and promote creative freedom. The government
has also emphasized that graffiti should carry positive social messages and not be
used for political propaganda or vandalism. The decision reflects a growing respect
for art as a voice of the people in the post-revolution era.
3) Write a report on “Price Hike”.
Price Hike of Essential Commodities Worries Consumers

Name/Staff Reporter, Dhaka, 21 October: The continuous rise in the prices of

essential commodities has become a serious concern for people across the country.
Over the past few months, the prices of daily necessities such as rice, flour, oil,
vegetables, eggs, and sugar have increased sharply in both urban and rural
markets.
According to market sources, the main reasons behind this price hike are the
increase in transportation costs, higher import taxes, and the rising value of the
dollar. Besides, some dishonest traders are taking advantage of the situation by
hoarding goods to make extra profit. As a result, low and middle-income families
are struggling to manage their daily expenses.
Consumers have expressed their frustration, saying that their income has not
increased in proportion to the rising costs. Many have demanded that the
government take immediate action to control the market.
In response, the authorities have started regular market monitoring drives to
prevent artificial price manipulation. The government has also announced plans to
sell essential commodities at fair prices through the Trading Corporation of
Bangladesh (TCB).
Economists suggest that long-term solutions such as improving local production,
reducing import dependency, and strict action against market syndicates are
necessary to stabilize prices.
The ongoing price hike remains a major challenge for the economy and continues to
affect the living standards of ordinary citizens.
4) Write a report on “Impact of social media”.
Social Media: A Boon or a Curse for the Young Generation

Name/Staff Reporter, Dhaka, 21 October: In the digital age, social media has
become an inseparable part of daily life. Platforms such as Facebook, Instagram,
TikTok, and X (formerly Twitter) are shaping the way young people communicate,
learn, and express themselves. Its influence on the young generation is undeniable
— bringing both advantages and challenges.
On one hand, social media offers countless opportunities for learning, networking,
and creativity. Students can access educational content, join global discussions, and
even earn money through online businesses. It has also made communication faster
and information more accessible.
On the other hand, overuse of social media has led to several negative effects.
Many students suffer from addiction, lack of concentration, and poor academic
results. Issues like cyberbullying, fake news, and privacy invasion are also
increasing at an alarming rate.
Experts and educators emphasize that young people should use social media wisely
and in moderation. If used responsibly, it can be a powerful tool for education and
social change — but misuse may lead to long-term harm.
