• Assignment Details:
1. Assignment Title: Chronological Development of Looms
2. The assignment should include the following contents:
➢ Introduction (It should give an introduction to what a loom is.)
➢ Primitive Looms
➢ Pit Looms and Frame Looms (looms where fly shuttle, and throw shuttle
techniques were used)
➢ Semi-Automatic Shuttle Looms
➢ Power Looms (The introduction of electrical power and automatic shuttle
looms)
➢ Modern Looms (Must include projectile, rapier, air-jet, and water-jet looms)
➢ Advanced Concepts of Looms (You can add electromagnetic weft insertion
systems, multiphase looms, or any other topics that you have explored.)
3. You can modify or add other content if you feel the necessity.
4. Definitely indicate the timeframe for each chronologically developed loom.
5. Use adequate visuals, images, charts, diagrams, etc. to enrich your writing.
• Writing Rules:
1. There are no specific word limits; however, there is no need to exceed 1500 words.
2. Use MS Word, Layout Size: A4, Layout Margin: Normal (1” on all sides).
3. Font for Headings: 14, Times New Roman, Bold, Black/Blue/Green.
4. Font for Body: 12, Times New Roman, Not Bold, Black.
5. You must include a cover page containing the assignment title & other necessary
information.
6. You must also include a list of contents/index page.
7. Do not copy each other’s assignments. If you use external resources (books, research or
news articles, websites etc.), make sure to properly cite them.
8. No assignments will be accepted upon exceeding the submission deadline.
• Submission Rules:
1. You must submit both soft copies (.pdf format) and hard copies (printed A4 papers) of
the assignment.
2. Submission deadline for soft copy: 08 November 2025, Saturday (within 12:00 pm).
3. Submission method for soft copy: Appropriately rename and submit your .pdf file to the
following google form link: [Link]
4. Submission deadline for hard copy: 09 November 2025, Sunday.
5. Submission method for hard copy: Through class representatives.
6. For the soft copy, do not submit multiple times. Contact me if you are facing any issues.
7. For the hard copy, you can print on both sides of the page. Color print is recommended.
