Bishop's Quest for the Rook's Key
Bishop's Quest for the Rook's Key
childhood home. He was too late trailing a cloud of dust in the distance, a massive
cathedral like structure that move like an ancient primordial form of life, so much
faster and its scale of existence that it treated the creatures in its path with
the same carelessness as humans thought of insects beneath their own feet.
has Bishop looked through the wreckage of his parents home well, once parents, he
finds their bodies, crushed and buried in rubble. He now in disbelief in a moment
of silence, but the silence was haunted by the distant rumbling of the creature
just on the horizon in the drawer of his father‘s broken desk Bishop finds a map
which covers a huge area spending multiple rooms beyond the silver dunes. Bishop
had never seen any environment beyond the desert. Five locations are marked on the
map with different coloured cliffs. Also marked in the legend of the map is a rook
symbol that was encased with a stained glass window frame, and the word key written
in a different coloured ink.
he spends the next day and a half horridly sprinting across the silver dunes,
following the trail of the massive cathedral rock with the land, all dipping down
in a steady path behind it when he finally catches up to the massive rock is trying
to find its way through some rock canyons, but it is significantly slow slowed down
due to the narrow passageways, but they are plenty wide enough for Bishop to gain
any ground. He had lost on the open sands with the Rook stuck in a narrow passage,
bishop approaches, looking for a way into the cathedral farm.
The massive cathedral rock turns its attention towards bishop as he runs towards
it, brandishing a tower like a weapon the rook swings downward towards bishop as he
jumps to the side and dodges the blow as it drags the tower back up, bishop latches
on and his carried up the Rook’s body, where he jumps into a balcony edge with a
rail and scramble to find something to latch onto seeing a small stone statue that
appears like a miniature cathedral sculpture he grabs on in hopes to brace himself
for the massive rocks movement only to find the small statue come to life and react
to his touch
he clings to the figure, but the rook shakes his body and flings bishop off, still
clinging to the smaller figure. He crashes to the ground and receives a wound from
the fall, but still remains attached to the small figure. The foot of the massive
rook kicks the pair further into a crevice of the canyon where he thinks they are
finally in a passageway out of reach from the rock, but it takes another swing with
his tower like weapon and flings him with a small figure deeper into the figure
from here it tries to step on them with its foot again, though it’s foot extends
toes that seem to be grasping for the small replicant form. They are trapped
between the rocks and the rock when Bishop noticed a large mechanism like a lever
sticking out of the cliff wall.
With very few options, Bishop pulls down on the giant lever, and the stone wall
begins to crack and rumble as a hidden doorway reveals a cave, which is a tight
squeeze to get through due to the fallen rocks and rubble blocking parts in the
path as Bishop steps deeper into the rock hallway, the rook outside kicks the lever
and closes off the exit with the Brooklyn Lange trapped inside with him both bishop
and the Brooklyn Lange follow the dark corridor for several hours with only a demo
light peeing in through cracks up in the ceiling of the cave
deep into the cave and feeling exhausted they come to a dead end in the path as
Bishop steps back to look around. He noticed the path has a shaft leading upward
about 10 feet up the wall standing on the roof Lange‘s back he is able to reach the
passage and climb up only to discover that this is the only first step in a
seemingly endless climb of steps, but there is a light fire above the boat and both
bishop and the Brooklyn Lange spend a solid day making their way climbing up these
stairs. They stopped for a rest on one of the stairs about halfway towards the
light at the end of the tunnel where Bishops men’s wounds and takes a nap for
several hours before continuing the arduous climb up.
as they approach the light, Bishop observes the cloud of mist up in the light and
calculates that they must be rather far up from the level that they departed from
when they finally reach the exit to the rock walls around them looks out on a sea
of clouds, and above those clouds are a ceiling so far above the clouds, he had
never seen this time before, and he takes a moment to catch his breath before
continuing up the staircase into an opening in the ceiling above that had a frame
of intricate stone carvings with unusual symbols etched into their course service
They disappear into the dark before appearing above the Brooklyn continues to
follow.
as Bishop and the Brooklyn poke through the hole into the room above the stand on a
loan aisle of rock in the midst of a stormy Sea, lightning cracks and the winds
blow and bluster violently around them, causing bishops robes to flap in the wind
off the shoreline is a massive rock covered in sales and masks. In portholes on
either side of the massive rock are two smaller rocks that look like lighthouses on
either side of it one made of stone and the other adorned and icicles and elaborate
Crystal carvings the water, stretches to the horizon, columns, rise up from the
water and connect with ceiling, supports up among the clouds this is still within
another room
Bishop, here’s a screech in the sky and it’s picked up along with his Brooklyn
companion by a homing gargoyle that surprises them and swooped into clutch them by
the shoulders. Bishop had hurt stories of gargoyles, but had never actually seen
one in the desert where he grew up, the gargle brings them up into the rafters and
drops him into a nest before flying away from here they will need to explore the
rafters to search for a way down or into another area. At least they are out of
sight of the rocks in the water far below in the gargoyle on the bishop finds a
piece of treasure.
digging through the debris of the Gárgolas‘s nest bishop find several pieces of
treasure pieces of root debris that could be traded later, so he hold onto them on
the outer perimeter of the nest. He finds the body of a human that was carried to
the nest by gargoyles in the same manner as him, but this adventure was not so
lucky and was impaled upon landing and killed. They have tears on their clothes at
the shoulders in their hand is a small stone engraved with the strange symbol on
it, Bishop keep the stone and place it in his pocket when he looks up to the
stretch of the Raptors before him he sees the Brooklyn engaged in a fight with a
beetle like creature the size of a horse rushing over he deals a fatal blow to the
creature with his staff, and proceeds to create a fire to cook some of the meat
from the creature, anticipating he will need to eat what he can hear before he is
able to find a way down to the room lands below the insect is far larger than
anything he has ever seen below and appears to be a different breed does the high
altitude have something to do with the incredible size of the creature
while they rest by the fire, a different type of gargoyle is attracted by the fire
and comes over to grab them yet again, and carries them over to another room and
the rafters dropping them down and flying away without much of a chance to get a
look at his gargoyle that is much swifter than the one before
The gargle flies into a nearby cave, where many gargoyles gather around a nest in
the mouth of the cave bishop sees a pile of bones, but they’re scattered among the
bones in a map that shows the rafters with his cave marked on it and several
passageways marked up to head back down to the surface he sees also that this map
may also reveal that going down one of the passages will lead to one of the areas
marked on the map he found in the wreckage of his new destroyed home with the
strange coloured symbols
has Bert Bishop and the Roling make their way across the Raptors he noticed the
ruling contains a key in its body with a series of symbols carved on the head of
the key he names the Brooklyn Lange pawn and admits. They are basically companions
now though he cannot truly know, it’s true intentions as Bishop and pond make their
way toward the passage down marked on the map. They see a figure up ahead. The
figure doesn’t acknowledge them, but quickly makes his way through a patch in the
rafters that has become an overgrown jungle Bishop notices a symbol in the backs of
the cultus robes and recognizes as as the same symbol carved in the stone in the
hand of the body outside the first gargoyle‘s nest as they try to catch up to the
rope man their ambushed in the jungle by an ant like creature, the size of a dog
during the moment right before they engage in combat with the giant Aunt they are
napped by a swarm of gnarled gargoyles that bring them up into the air and hold
them down at the base of the mountain, where the Gárgolas are peppered around the
mountain top with the small gargoyle nests strange unfamiliar words are carved into
the rook here there’s a pile of small rounded stones that have the same match of
symbols and size to the one bishop holds in his hand as Bishop and pawn make their
way up the mountain. They eventually come into one of the Gárgolas’s nest and it
has becomen quiet as they approach the voices they clamour at the mouth of a
particularly large burrow and hear the voices echoing loudly from with him. There’s
a flickering a fire light coming from with him. They tread carefully and silently
going deeper into the cave towards the chanting.
upon turning the corner of the room opens up where Bishop takes cover behind a
large rock peeking around the rock he sees 30 or 40 people in the same robes of the
cult with the symbol on them, all gathered before a natural altar of stone, where a
leader speaks in an unknown language to the cultus they shine a torch on huge
carved mural on the wall and all around the thrones of people, waiting quiet
quietly patiently shifting their weight from foot to foot gargoyles some of them,
forming a ring around the gather crowd, others in little holes and nooks in the
walls, higher and higher upward in the high vaulted ceiling
this must be where that the guard will capture end up if they are not killed in the
rap jungles, the leader, pauses in his speech, highlighting a figure in the mural.
The figure is large, clearly the subject of the image, and the one who all the
cults seem to vent all the cults take to their knees and bow towards this figure as
they do Bishop peeks out further squinting, trying to see more of the mural and
makes sense of everything. The figure in the middle of the mural is surrounded by
four smaller figures one is clearly a rock, its arm raised high and beams of light
shining wide from its hands another to appear like a couple and the last looks like
a soldier standing guard aside from the rock they all look strange, including the
central figure, not like people at all with strange shaped heads and bodies,
perhaps the artist took some liberties with the designs. Nothing could possibly
look like that he thinks nothing alive.
this studies, the Meral intensely not even realizing the crowd was all now chanting
the same phrase over and over, but he understands these words as he strains to
listen to distinguish the words to eat out meaning and his ears and mind a tune to
the crowd and the echoing acoustics of the chamber he hears them, saying bishop of
ash, Bishop of Ashta, Bishop of Ashta before he has the chance to process the
strange phrase. I cry echos from a cultus pointing at Bishop, he has been spotted
and the crowd turns towards him the chanting fading as they realize there’s an
intruder in the cave. Bishop turns and runs to the sound of a crowd ramping up
Bishops heads towards the descent in his map, cutting back through the jungle and
coming out the other side dangling out from a massive tree on the perimeter of the
jungle in a vine, which descends down from the rafters, looking like it might
collapse, but Bishop has no time to waste and need to escape immediately the
descent is long and arduous taking the better part of the day before they see the
land below.
Bishop and pond come down on the coastline and are greeted by an intelligent and
strategic woman with a sacred look named Drea. She is looking for her husband, who
was searching the area for some artefact that hasn’t returned. She promises to tell
you about the artefact once she finds her husband having no time for chatting.
Bishop and pawn con continue along the coast and see two figures ahead, engaged in
combat one is dressed in the cloak of the cultus with a symbol on its back. The
other is in a rook armour with a sword and a ruling at their side. The cultus makes
an unarmed attack and engages in some form of martial arts stance. They then make
several quick punches and a swift upward kick that sends the rook plate soldier
flying up into the air and crashing down the third that kills them. The ruling runs
into the horizon with the rope, cultus chasing after it as Bishop, and upon
approach the dead body pond takes the sword.
Up in the distance, they see a small coastal town to decide to follow the direction
of the cult test and see what the town has to offer. They arrive at the small
village in the windswept coastline while it is still early in the day harsh Stone
cliffs drop away right at the edge of the town with nothing but cut stones stairway
and rickety rope banister, guiding them down the secluded beach that looks over the
sea the sea that stretches to the horizon, distant columns, holding up the ceiling,
just visible on the horizon.
The village is called Craig’s end and it is small and very quiet. The buildings are
clearly made from Stone taken from Brooks and the surrounding area. Some of the
buildings are medium rook husks with their limbs removed, sat like squat, cast
towers at haphazard angles. nobody seems to be about. They only seems to be one
place that is open to the public cramped Tavern.
Bishop finds a merchant out front of the tavern who offers to exchange treasure of
rook parts for an extending pole made from rook parts. It allows you to fall upward
and also attacked from a distance. He says the merchant tells him bishop accepts
the trade, then proceeds towards the tavern.
inside the tavern, a stone line room with a few wooden tables brazier’s on the
wall, a fire burning in a large hearth and a bar with an older gentleman, counting
a stock of bottles on the shelves behind the counter. Bishop stripes up a
conversation with the bar man, it isn’t long before the topic of the state of the
village and the rumours of the island come up the man offers you would drink and
tells you to settle in while he starts his story Craig and has always been a
stopping point for rock, hunters, and adventures for as long as anyone can
remember, this is because the stories go that the only way to reach crown aisle is
by sailing Dune north from Craig’s end sailors have tried to find the island from
different starting points, following maps and questionable sources or taking advice
from fisherman who claimed to have seen it or even unlikely claim to have been
there, but the truth is none of them have succeeded The waters are shallow and
filled with strange magnetic rocks that skew the compass wildly on top of that
there is a permanent mist that settles over the ocean just off the coast making
visual navigation impossible. The only sure far away to find crown aisle is the
sale do north from Craigs and Beach.
Bishop stairs off through the Tavern window while the man’s story continues he sees
the water and realizes the tavern is perched right on the edge of the cliff. A few
more years of erosion in this tavern will be in the sea as he looks up upon the
beach, sure enough, the mist gathers ominously how had he not noticed this before?
The bar man continues the story. The villagers consider this twist of nature curse
as it forces them to meet many adventures, seeking the treasure, the crown aisle,
rumours to hold only for them to return. They are tired of knowing the latest
stranger to visit their village will die. It is a helpless feeling. They started
trying to convince adventures not to go out there, but it didn’t work so now there
resort to stay indoors, shutting their windows so that they may remain unaware of
any visitors coming or going in the village, it is less painful that way.
The barman talks of a recent adventure, a woman by the name of Anya. She was bright
full of fire and the most ambitious and passionate. She has left a few days ago
headed for the aisle and hasn’t been heard from since he leaves it there his words
trailing off with melancholic sigh that speaks like he knows the bishop will be the
next victim of the curse. Bishop looks across the sea in the aisles direction. His
mind was already made up. He could feel it calling to him, Bishop and pawn head
down to the beach were several abandoned seaworthy amounts are left unattended.
They choose the vessel which appears to be the least damaged and push the vessel
into the sea.
The sale on choppy water is under a heavy rain that pellets the skin headed north
into the mist after half a day of sailing to see a castle like Tower jutting out
over the water wave splashing around where it connects with the sea further head
are more cremations of a castle, forming a curving wall. There’s a crevice that is
big enough for the vessel to enter inside. It is a huge caverns like an underground
river leading from one cavern to the next as the passage curls around, Bishop can
see up as if they have somehow ended up beneath the castle they have passed, but
the water level is much lower inside banking the vessel for a moment underneath the
castle Bishop explores a small watchtower with a potion on an old wooden table as
he boards his vessel again the water starts to sway and along with it, the walls of
the castle and the passageway out the ship swirls around until the walls of the
castle start to come down with waterfalls pouring in from the Tourette’s and
windows above the vessel goes up through the hole in the tower ceiling as the
castle and all the surrounding island rubble disappear around with it could the
entire structure have only been the top of an absolutely massive rock sticking out
from the ocean floor
The rain subsides and the sun comes out as Bishop looks out across the horizon. He
sees a coastline to the west and considers going to the shore to figure out where
the island is from here, and on the way he sails into shallow water and notices
ruins under the water, he puts down the anchor and swims down, finding some roof
parts that he salvages, but not much else when he gets to the surface again there
is a pirate ship next to his boat the Pirates take Bishop on Board there and ship
and tie him up and throw him into a cell while he sits in the cell of the pirate
ship for the better part of a day passing, he has almost given up hope of escape
when suddenly he hears a commotion and feels the ship hurl to the side, as if it
has been struck a rock beneath the surface a medium-size rook attacks the pirate
ship, and as pieces of the ship are smashed and broken bishop is broken free from
his cell and find himself on the deck of the ship from his cell. He has noticed a
chest that he decided to raid finding a piece of treasure before jumping overboard
to attempt to swim to safety after swimming away, he lands on an uninhabited island
to catch his breath and reassesses his situation. He’s alone on the island without
his ship or Pawn.
on the shore of the island are the dead bodies of several of the pirates that were
killed in the rook attack Bishop find some treasure on one of the bodies picking up
the bodies is a strange creature that looked like a vulture with two sets of wings
Bishop kills the creature with his staff and cooks the meat on a fire along the
shore, while exploring the island bishop comes across a trap in the centre of the
island and is able to find mechanisms to disable it, which also allows him to find
and salvage some more parts from the trap as the day goes on Bishop sees a vessel
in the water coming towards him as the ship arrive cc pond is piloting it and is
track him down boarding the ship he checks the compass to head to north again and
continue on his journey not long after departing they see it and immediately no it
is the crown aisle from what they see it appears to be a perfectly round island
with a circular perimeter while around its entire edge castellated with the iconic
up-and-down formations of the top of a castle tower. The wall isn’t especially
tall, but they are not able to see a way over it to find a way over. He docks the
ship on the south coast of the island and uses the extended pole to launch both him
and pawn over the wall. The island isn’t large and it takes less than a day to see
everything to explore there. It’s strange. Nothing seems to suggest why so many who
have come before have gone missing it all seems fairly in oculus.
The first thing he comes upon is an abandoned campfire site clearly someone camped
here and not that long ago from the look of it there are a few items bags, pieces
of clothing, a barrel, and a treasure clearly buried to hide it awaiting its owners
return
on the other western side of the south side of the island is the remnants of a
large scale expedition from long ago. There are many boxes now, old and rotten that
clearly held ordinance for a multiperson mission. Bishop finds some food rations
and puts them into his inventory on the north side of the island is a rook husk
that appears to be dormant as Bishop approaches the medium rook. It starts to stir.
It hadn’t noticed him yet, so he runs towards the castle tower in the centre of the
island to hide. The tower is about the size of a small room cast on top. There is a
doorway and a glance inside reveals a dark spiral staircase, disappearing down
underground. It looks wet in the sound of dripping water can be heard as Bishop to
send down into the dark below as the shadow of the medium rock blocks the light of
the castle entrance above rumbling the Earth as it moves, Bishop finds himself in a
complex winding and intersecting series of wide tunnels that have a round
cylindrical shape to them, the constant sound of water dripping, and the deep
creaking of a stone structure under stress are the only sounds that in the odd
sound is cuddling from time to time the walls are damp, as well as the ornate and
complex carvings that adorn nearly every service of the tunnels, a green LG or moss
grows nearly everywhere. It is cold, but humid and a wet chill fills the air
heading deeper into the structure Bishop passes port hole like windows from time to
time the lookout on the ocean floor through and possibly thick crystal glass. There
are more columns of the colossal, extending deep below the surface of the sea fish,
swimming among the barnacle and seaweed and crusted bases, it isn’t long before
Bishop and Pond enter room the first room they have found down here and it is the
feeling of importance like a hub of some kind.
The room is large and shaped strangely like it was never intended for people to
navigate. There is no flat floor instead the curve floor has the shape of a rolling
waves stopped in time and the floors seamless curve upwards and become the ceiling
all in the same inconsistent bulbus asymmetrical shape, but still made from bricks
and stone. It’s like standing inside a huge deflated ball that like the ones kids
in the room land villages would play with Bishop see three doors around. It’s
strange rolling surfaces. One door is heavy and oppressive looking standing strong
and it’s frame. There will be no muscle Lange through the door frame from the looks
of it, however following the pattern lines curved into the wall, running from its
frame the line split and lead to what look like two stone lovers one at floor level
and the other high up on one of the walls.
another door is smaller than the first size of an average person. It appears dirty
and resilient to force above it set into its frame is what looks like a gemstone,
but on closer inspection it seems to be very subtly changing colour every few
seconds first on Amber yellow then a cloudy gray, then a diamond white then back to
yellow again constantly cycling through the last door looks different from the
others rather than actually looking like a door with patterns and engravings this
looks as though someone has filled the door frame with clay that is subsequently
hardened, but there are a few cracks
Not knowing how to open any of the bishop ops to try, pulling the levers of the
first door having pond, Fuller pull the lever on the floor while he uses his
extending pole to reach the higher level and latch on using the weight of his body
to pull down the wall makes the sounds of the large mechanisms turning within, and
the room rumbles as the heavy door releases with a puff of dust shooting out, and
the door pushes back on a mechanism which lifts it wide open and tuck the door
itself into a crack in the door frame hiding inside the wall
They find themselves in a series of thin, winding stone tunnels, sometimes big
enough to stand up and sometimes having to crawl. It is like a network that snakes
from left to right, even up and down, and on top of that sometimes seawater comes
flooding down the tunnel.
as Bishop makes his way through the tunnel, he hears a rumble and then suddenly
water rushes from head. He uses the extending pole and expands it to the create a
column, pressing against both sides of the tunnel to hang on, but does not act
quickly enough and is sent washing into a small room with a permanent pool of water
in it in which are swimming a number of ocean fish in this room. Bishop finds the
bones of another adventure clearly caught out and perhaps drowned by the Torrance.
He has a bag on him that has some rations and healing herbs.
A rush of water fills the room and sends Bishop and pawn into another tunnel, which
opens up to a small room filled with complex stone machinery. It looks like gear
wheels pumps, and an ancient engine of some sort Bishop de deuces that this machine
controls the Torrance in these tunnels there’s a keyhole that appears to control
the mechanism as he examines the mechanism and our automaton stands 7 feet tall
that appears like a larger Lange appears from in the mechanisms, but it is
surrounded by a ring of frothing water, spinning around it and a floating glob of
water above its head. It sends a huge amount of the water dropping down from the
ceiling, but Bishop is able to dodge the side and avoid being drenched, a second
and third rush of water come down from the ceiling the third one bludgeoning
bishop, but he uses the rod of extending to trap the figure through a small window
opening in its body as pond defeat it with it sword upon defeating the bash he
finds there is no Rockstone within its body, but where is it sea stone power coming
from?
A rush of water comes rushing through the room and washes them all out of the
mechanism’s room piling into the dead end in the tunnels there’s a huge pile of
silt and detritus that has gathered here from the Torrance of water on close
examination. Bishop finds a key which he uses in the mechanism room and turns off
the mechanism which causes the water Torrance with the water Torrance subsided. He
is free to explore the tunnels further.
Bishops and pawn enter into a series of cubic rooms that lead from one another in a
confusing, three-dimensional maze each room contains huge axles and gears, coming
through holes and walls, and slowly turning navigating these constantly moving and
shifting obstacles will be the key to moving onwards
As Bishop moves forward through the rooms, he comes to a locked door, scanning the
room. He sees a series of gear gears and axles that appear to be responsible for
the locking, but some of the gears in the system are missing suddenly here. Here is
a clunk sound as a mechanism in the floor clicks and a series of blades swing
towards him making a wound as he picks himself up and dust himself off he finds a
sword in remarkably good condition locked into a day in the middle of the room of
complex machinery, the guard of the sword is shaped like a cog, and the handle is
engraved with the gilded pattern of gears and axles. He takes the gear blade and
equip it.
suddenly, the gears and axles in the room start spinning, and turning bringing all
manner of huge stone machine parts, swinging towards Bishop, he flips and Dodgers,
but lands on another mechanism which clicks and sends blades flying past his head
as there is a crash behind him and a massive stone gear comes wheeling down a slope
towards him. Another bash appears sending a bubble towards him, which he dodges. It
shoots a jet stream of water, which he makes a backflip and gets out of its way
hearing another crash from behind him. A stone wheel comes rushing towards him as
Sebastian sends a wall of water towards him, but the stone wheel spits the water
and crushes the bash.
The gears and axles continue spinning and turning as bishop digs around them
another bastion drop swatter from above and slams bishop against the floor,
creating a wound. He looks for a way out and finds a door that is open a small
amount, but is constantly shifting back-and-forth for a couple of inches it appears
as though some gear is jammed somewhere a wall of water comes flying towards
Bishop, and he dodges out of the way the body of the previous bastion is crushed
between the two large gear wheels, preventing them from turning as Bishop tries to
grab for it to pull it free and another wall of water comes rushing toward him as
he dodges, causing the wall of water to smash into the body and dislodge it from
the gears, causing the door to slide open as Bishop runs through to escape the bash
currently coming for him He finds himself in a huge room which drops away into
darkness below spanning the room, a huge gear wheels spinning on the side so that
they slowly rotating platforms bastion jumps across reaching a door at the other
side.
Leaving the hall behind Bishops steps into a smaller room, clearly an anti-chamber
for its design, focusses all the attention via the shaping of the wall and the
placing of columns towards a small set of steps at the top of the steps. It’s a
grand door far larger than any of the other bishop has encountered so far in the
labyrinth.
his attention goes immediately to evidence of a camp in the middle of the room and
sitting next to a makeshift shelter and a small fire is a young woman tending to a
wound on her arm. She introduces herself to Bishop as Anya, the adventure he
remembers hearing about from the tavern, owner at Craigs end she tells Bishop that
she has been down here in the labyrinth for a few days and that a recent wound to
arm has forced her to stop and rest here to regain her strength. Bishop ask why
she’s here, but she remains quiet choosing to skirt around the subject. She doesn’t
say it out loud, but Bishop conclude she is probably here to find and take a
treasure that is becoming more likely to be the Sebastian‘s with water abilities
that he had encountered on the way here or maybe just to explore the labyrinth deep
beneath the ocean
after a little more conversation, she mentions the rooks are so different. Here she
realizes she may have said too much reluctant to elaborate, but then proudly
proclaimed that she is from the coo Dana empire a large territory, made of many
rooms far from the rooms known to Bishop finally the conversation shifts to the
labyrinth and the strange sites. Bishop saw inside while exploring as Anya starts
to pack her camp away into a small backpack. She turns the bishop and tells him
that they are both inside the body of a colossal rock. The crown aisle is the top
of its head peeking out of the top of the water, its body extending deep below the
waves she says it is one of the very few colossal rocks that have been found the
city called pair of pet being another. She explains that the hall of winds in its
lungs the hall of Torrance arts blood vessels and the hall of gears hurt its
muscles and finally with a dead serious. She explains that Sebastian’s or its
immune system fighting off invaders. She says that bass can only be found inside
colossal rocks, and that they take on the characteristics and magical abilities of
the colossal rock, whose body they inhabit, and that fact proves that the colossal
rook has the sea stone and that she is going to find it.
Bishops pawn and Anya stand for a huge ominous star in the Auntie chamber. Anya
says that she thinks this leads to the inside of the colossal Rooks head the spiral
staircase. Bishop entered the labyrinth from goes down to the centre of the head
and down the rook spine bypassing the head entirely Bishop leans against the heavy
door and it starts to move. They step in a large round of chamber, like the other
rooms and passageways of the colossal rock the stones and bricks mesh together and
flowing organic shapes so that the walls and floors of the room have bulges and
waves in them. The floor is curving upward where they meet the walls.
in the centre of the room, there is a large circular recess about a foot deep that
is filled with a shallow depth of water and stood right in the middle of that pool
is Sebastian but this Sebastian doesn’t look like the others for a start. It is
large, almost twice as tall as the others from the tunnels, and it is bent over in
a crooked twisted pose from the crown of its head, water, pours constantly as if it
is being generated from the top of it and the water spills all around the
circumference of its castellated head, pouring a perfectly circular waterfall and
obscuring its face completely like flowing foaming watery hair the drowned queen
whispers Anya, a ghost above its head shining brightly with a cerulean light is
floating a shining Crystal Bishop knows that this is one of the legendary unique
rock stones right there before his very eyes, the sea stone the drowned queen
suddenly turns its body making horrifying snapping sounds as it bends and crunches.
It’s stone body and it’s strange contorted way and faces them. They are what
appeared to be eyes flashing behind the pouring water as it lunges forward to
attack.
The drowned queen comes at the with a flurry, her body snapping and cracking and
contorting as she closes in on Bishop. She summons two columns of water around
Bishop from the floor to the ceiling, causing him to float off the ground and begin
to suffocate using the extended pole, bishop Knox back the queen and disrupt the
spell as bishop is on his knees, gasping for the breath, the queen summons a bubble
of water around herself for a split second floating within it with a strange
buoyancy only to suddenly expand it at word sending a bubble shockwave the Anya
deflects out of the way while the queen is distracted Bishop grabs an old tattered
pack on the ground with a vile of Star Wars
The drowned queen raises her head and screams. There are small cracks opening in
her care huge cracks appear in the walls from her scream and water starts to pour
in the water level rises so that it is now deep enough for the queen to swim and
she does there is still some rise parts of the floor that stand proud of the water,
but she talks the deeper areas like a shark. Anya is terrified and swims to one of
the ledges. She finds an old wooden shield and tosses it to pawn who is struggling
to keep a flow uses it like a raft and uses their sword like a paddle to head over
to Bishop, who is swimming in the middle of the broom, the queen swims up and burst
out out of the water just beneath Bishop and pond who use the shield like a
platform to jump to another section of adjacent to Anya as the queen lashes, the
wooden shield with a claw as she hurdles past the queen dispelled a power surge
from the sea stone and launches him back. Pond manages to make a serious strike
with their sword while the queen is focussed on Bishop.
The queen lets out a scream as parts of her stone body fall away. The water level
continues to rise and fill the room. There is nowhere safe to stand, and Bishops
pawn, and Anya will float around the drowned queen the queen tries to grapple
Bishop, but fails to grab them quick enough, tries to attack the queen, but the
queen stops floating in the centre of the room and screams the terrifying screech
vibrates the water and Pomel against everyone’s eardrums pond manages to slicer and
make the screaming success, but the queen starts to swim at high-speed around the
circumference of the room, creating a vicious, current cycling, inward and spinning
everyone around as they are dashed against the wall walls, bishop uses the pole of
extending and launches it forward, pinning the queen against the rock and piercing
through her body
With one final bloodcurdling scream, the drowned queen is defeated with a surge of
frothing water cracked and broken stone body shatters into 1000 chunks of human
stone. The pieces forced through the water, leaving trails of bubbles behind them.
She is defeated. She is beaten.
but the room is completely filled with water. Bishop quickly grabs the sea stone
and floats in the centre of the room, swimming upward, Bishop Anya and pawn, all
forced their way through one of the larger cracks in the wall, letting the water in
as they squeeze through the surfaces, appear to be not far of a swim as Bishop paw
and Anya swim up, they look back at the now totally lifeless body of the colossal
rock, it’s massive husk, extending downward into the dark depths of the sea they
swim up past the outside of its head and surface just next to the rock Shores of
crown aisle
As they pull themselves up onto the rocks of the crown, head of the colossal rock
below, they stand dripping, wet and shivering in the cold wind
I have travelled in the name of the emperor of coyote. My quest brought me here and
my aim was singular. Give me the sea stone.
Bishop request some sort of reward and Anya offers him a Weatherstone, which he
tells him that it can summon fog at Will Bishop accepts the trade and they sail
together back to Craig’s end to rest and plan for the next phase of travel
There is a forest further up the coastline from Craig’s end with one of the strange
markings on the map. There is an illustrated ruins on the map here that looks like
their broken body of a colossal rock. They had of Bishop with pawn travelling
behind it takes them an uneventful day before they reach a point where they see the
edge of the forest.
at the forest edge is a small logging camp of wooden buildings as they approach the
small settlement. They are greeted by a tough and reliable logger with a rugged
look about him who introduces himself as Berwick. He says that he knows the way
through the forest, but that he needs assistance repairing his logging machine,
which appears like a small rock with a saw for one hand and a clamp for the other
in exchange for a rook part, he will take Bishop to the ruins of the forest Bishop
agrees and set about repairing the logging machine as they finish the repairs. The
logger brings bishop and pond to trail cut in the forest, but as they make their
way into the woods along the path there stopped by a bandit with a crossbow who
intends to kill anyone who passes
The bandit tries to grapple bishop, but he easily neutralizes the enemy with their
staff, spinning and knocking the enemy down, searching the body. Bishop find some
treasure of the bandit that likely stole from another person passing through the
forest. The bandit has a symbol on an artefact that matches the symbol on Bishop’s
map, he wonders if the ruins are inhabited by more bandits when they arrive at the
ruins, Berwick tells him that he must depart and leaves Bishop then the entrance to
the ruins there is a large golden rug piece the bishop takes as a treasure. This
artefact also contains a symbol matching the other, and the symbol on his map. He
has found the forest ruins to now explore what this has to do with his Calling.
Within the ruins of the forest of the remains of an abandoned bandit camp, there is
a smoking campfire with an animal, frozen salad that appears like a woolly mammoth
with the head of a bore at the end of the camp is a massive wall of ice blocking
the path forward with a frozen body of a person trapped inside the ice wearing the
guard of the bandit scene earlier
suddenly, there is a commotion of tree wrestling as something large traverses
through the trees towards the camp. It is a large rock that looks like forms of the
cathedral of Saint Basile. It swings at pond like it is trying to grab them, but
Bishop uses the pole of extending to bash away at the Rook‘s direction, the rook
turns and blast the jet of ice that forms a path of Crystal, but Bishop jumps out
of the way and activates fog stone to shroud the forest and mist the Rook swings
wildly about bashing into trees as Bishop emerges like a ninja from the fog and
slices into the rock with his gear blade the Rook spits a chunk of the cathedral
form towards them as it collapses and stops moving then, as they notice it crushes
through the ice wall behind it and dies
On the other side of the ice wall is a touring mechanism pointed towards the sky,
out of sight in the clouds above as they look up to the mechanism the Brooklyn that
had emerged from the rook battle walked past them and slid its entire body into a
perfectly shaped hole in the mechanism that appears to be designed to fit this rock
Lange Pond walks over to a different section of the mechanism and pulls a key from
his body and turns the mechanism on there is thousands of gears and pistons,
causing the mechanism to gyrate and rotate around as a large sound bangs overhead
high above the clouds the clouds begin to glow orange as it appears some hatch or
door has been opened high in the room, and often the distance there is a large thud
far to the east of the room
as Bishop travelled out of the forest and into the open planes, he sees what looks
like a massive skeleton. Is it a humanoid that large is it perhaps the body of an
inhabitant who lives at the scale of the rooms that they have traversed climbing
out of the eye hole of the massive skull looking like an ant. The scale of the
skull was a human figure of a man who introduced himself to Bishop as Trion Blyth,
he has known as a joker always whipping.
Trion, the old man takes Bishop with him joking and whipping the whole way until
they arrive at a thriving city with a Starley higher level of civilization, and
apparently lack of technological advancement than the villages and the wild lands
of the rooms beyond its boundaries the old man, Trion refers to this as the grand
city of Cornell. It is one of the greatest sites to behold for a weary traveller
from the room lens, he says it has been seen from the greatest distance away the
squat body of what must have been truly massive look at once no single person
could’ve taken that beast down I imagine generations just waited for it to lay down
and give up but now it’s long, dead husk houses the entire city and it’s tears of
buildings and glitter palaces towers at the very top. The former Rooks forms an
excellent perimeter with holes, cut into it for access to the various caravan,
trains and traders who frequent the city back back-and-forth inside the lower
streets are filled with all manner of folk in shady walkway is doubled with beams
of sunlight, breaking through from above and swabs of green IVs and leafy plant
strangling down from the stories above every building is a different shape from its
neighbour slotted together like strange desolation, and sometimes you can see their
arms are heads from when they were rocks, frozen, and strange and stiff poses.
you can find anything here, and I recommend seeking out one of the many bazaars in
the lower streets or eating in a high balcony café that looks out over the
perimeter wall. It is a world away from the hard living for those of us live out in
the room lands, but once you’ve sampled city life, I very much doubt you all want
to leave. Every building is a part of or the whole body of a now defeated rock,
their husks now outfitted with windows and wooden interior floors, flagpoles and
ship and shop fronts mechanisms from their stone bodies now drive waggons and other
strange vehicles in the streets Rook stones lighten up the busy thoroughfares at
night and Scurry to and fro running errands are delivering packages and mail
The streets themselves are paver with stones from the smashed rock bodies. The
house is filled with hundreds, if not, thousands of people looking to live a more
secure life, safe from wildlands and the roaming rocks thanks to defensive walls
and a long range wall mounted weaponry.
The city has a hunters guild, a tavern, a merchant, a housing district a Rumi
Palace grounds, a lap artist and a weapon. Smith Bishop went to the weapon Smith
first a tough person covered in oil and rumble powder was working on a hot and
smoky forge they say that they can take any rook weapon and adaptive and upgraded.
Bishop gets his gear blade upgraded. He spends the rest of his treasure on a set of
Stone Rook armour in the shape of a turtle shell. The hunters guild has an
impressive entranceway this operated as a professional base for rook hunters.
The hunters guild gave Bishop the task to venture to the abandoned ruins of an
ancient people to find a huge ancient rook husk where a medium size rook is hold up
inside and sending hordes of rocks out to steel resources and bring them back if
Bishop is able to do this, the guild will send someone to bring them back to the
city and reward Bishop three treasures
and unarmed cultist on the road, tries to trap Bishop, but he manages to avoid
being caught in it with the unarmed cultist is an unfriendly adventure who is
trying to complete compete against Bishop in his pursuit they call themselves Yala.
They are old wise and experienced. Bishop arrived at the ancient ruins were filled
with rumble magic rock Lange when Bishop found the book that used rock Lange to
attack.
