PROCEDURE FOR PRODUCTION Page 3 of 7
OF CONCRETE
1. OBJECTIVE
Establish the parameters of the necessary activities in concrete production
during the development of Contract 5002 - 0101 Conc. Estruc. Mech., E. & I. at Port -
Cerrejón.
2. SCOPE
This procedure is applicable during the development of all activities that
CONCREMECOL S.A.S. is engaged in the production of concrete for ISMOCOL.
Colombia in civil works for the expansion project at Puerto Bolívar.
3. DEFINITIONS
Aggregate: Set of inert particles, natural or artificial, such as sand,
gravel, crushed that when mixed with the binding material and water produces the
concrete.
Mixer truck: A truck-type vehicle with the capacity to mix and transport the
product resulting from the interaction of cement, water, and aggregates with or without additives
up to a final placement point.
Settlement (slump): Result of the workability test of a mixture of
concrete.
Concrete: Homogeneous mixture of cementing material, inert aggregates, and water.
with or without additives.
Cement: A powdered material that by adding a suitable amount of water
forms a binding paste capable of hardening both under water and in the air
free.
Additive: Active material added to concrete in small quantities to
modify some of its properties through physical or chemical action.
Settlement cone: Mold in the shape of a truncated cone with an 8" (200mm) diameter
inferior, 4" (100mm) diameter top and 12" (300mm) in height, used to make the
settlement essay.

5.2. DESCRIPTION OF THE ACTIVITY
5.2.1. RECEIPT OF ORDERS
Orders are received via phone or email, preferably on the day
previously to be able to prepare an effective and trouble-free schedule. In this
The reception specifies the type of concrete, the delivery site, and the requested cubic meters.
5.2.2. RECEPTION, INSPECTION AND STORAGE OF RAW MATERIAL
Upon receiving the orders, an inspection of them is carried out in order to
to ensure compliance with the requested quantities. Upon detecting a decrease
significant in the raw material collections is reported to the supplier and responsible for
these (ISMOCOL) in order to replenish the quantities and maintain a stock that allows
serve the customer without any problems.

The storage of aggregates (crushed stone and sand) is done in piles and in a manner
separated in order to avoid contamination. The cement is stored in stacks and
covered with the aim of protecting it from moisture. The additives are received and
stored properly in the warehouse preserving their properties. Making

5.2.3. LOADING OF MATERIALS
With the help of the skid steer, the operator proceeds to load the aggregates.
from the patio to the aggregate hopper of the batching plant in quantities
approximately those established in the design. For the cement, it is given to the assistants of
load the information of the number of packages that correspond to the weight in kg
to the design of the concrete to be produced; these transport the bags to a loading auger
which leads the cement to a silo where it is weighed and temporarily stored until its
dosing. The additives are stored in barrels and connected to the
plant for its subsequent dosing.

these being the operation controls of the dispatcher.
5.2.5. MIXING
The materials are dropped from the dosing plant to the mixing truck.
where the mixing is finally done. The product of this mixing must be a blend
homogeneous according to the parameters established in the design.
5.2.6. SETTLEMENT AND TAKING OF CYLINDERS
Upon obtaining the homogeneous mixture, a quantity is discharged from the mixer truck.
concrete required to carry out the settlement test and comply with what is required by the
client. After meeting the client's requirements regarding the settlement and obtaining
the definitive mixture, sample cylinders are taken to carry out tests and
obtain results that establish compliance with the resistance in terms of design.

5.2.7. DISTRIBUTION
Having met the requirements set by the client in their concrete design,
the mixer trucks leave the plant towards the unloading point of the same.
drivers carry the product's delivery note which specifies the
conditions for the release of concrete from the plant; this receipt must be signed by the
representative of the work to which the producer confirms the delivery of the
product in optimal conditions.
6. RESPONSIBILITY
The responsibility, in order, lies with the plant engineer, the plant operator, the
mixer vehicle driver; who gradually intervene in everything
process, supporting each step from the receipt of materials, production and
product delivery.
