VXvue
Quick Start Guide
VXvue is the exclusive image viewer program that acquires, adjusts,
and manages images created by Vieworks’ VIVIX detector series.
VXvue is composed of specialized modules besides image viewer,
provides users with high-quality medical imaging through fast processing.

2. BASIC OPERATION
2.1 STEP 1. REGISTERING STUDY INFORMATION
How to Resister Worklist
Users can retrieve patient prescription information using the DICOM Worklist in the Scheduled panel.
1 Input or choose search conditions and click on the Search button.
2 Check the search results in the Scheduled list.
3 Double-click the item or click the Start Study button to register the test in Exposure mode.

How to Input Patient Prescription Information Manually
In the Unscheduled panel, the user can enter patient prescription information directly.
You can start recording after inputting patient prescription information directly.
You can start emergency shooting without entering patient prescription information.
How to Register with Reserved Information

On the Scheduled or Unscheduled tab, you can register reserved patient prescription information that has been moved to the Reserved panel by
clicking the add to reserved button.
1 Enter or select a search condition and click the Search button.
2 Check the search results in the Reserved list.
3 Double-click the item or click the Start Study button to register the test in the Exposure mode.

2.2 STEP 2 EDITING AND SELECTING STEPS
1 After confirming the shooting area of the subject, edit the step in the thumbnail by selecting the appropriate category and step for the
shooting area.
What is ‘Step’? → A unit of shooting conditions consisting of a combination of Bodypart, Projection and patient size.
2 Select the step you want to shoot.

2.3 STEP 3 SELECTING DETECTOR AND PAITIENT SIZE
Selecting Detector
Detector icons are displayed for as many detectors as being capable of shooting.
The user can select the desired detector among them, and the selected detector icon is displayed in yellow frame.

Selecting Patient Size
You can select the patient size by checking the size of the patient to be taken.
Click button to indicate options for selecting patient sizes for Large, Medium, Small, and Pediatric.

2.4 STEP 4 TAKING X-RAY IMAGES
1 When shooting is ready, the Patient Name, Patient ID, and Bodypart are displayed in the image view in the order of Patient Name, Patient ID,
and Bodypart, and an icon indicating that the step is selected.
Adjust the patient position according to the steps to be taken.
Adjust the X-ray irradiation conditions suitable for shooting.

2 Take images by exposing X-ray. When the image is acquired, the preview image is displayed, and image processing starts.
3 The final processed image is displayed on the screen.

2.5 STEP 5 CHECKING AND ADJUSTING IMAGES
1 When shooting is finished, check the acquired image.
2 Apply image adjustments such as W / L, Crop, Zoom, Pan and add labels using the image adjustment tool.
Icon Description
Adjusting the brightness and contrast of the image.
Cutting the image to a rectangle.
Adding R or L label to the image to display the orientation.

2.6 STEP 6 REJECT / RETAKE / ACCEPT

Icon Description
After selecting the image to be retaked, click the Reject button and the image will be removed. Select the step you
want to retake and proceed to Step 4 (page 8) again.
After selecting the image to retake, click the Retake button and the image will be removed. The corresponding step
is automatically added and ready for shooting. Proceed to Step 4 (page 8) again.

2.7 STEP 7 CLOSING AND SUSPENDING STUDY
When all the shots are completed, click the button. You can close the study that is currently being taken and exit

Close the study that is currently being taken,
Close one study (Close) or close all studies (Close All).
Hold and close the study that is currently being taken.
2.8 STEP 8 SEND / EXPORT / PRINT
You can transfer, export, and print a specific image or entire study during shooting or after the study is finished.
Icon Description
Send the selected study or image to the DICOM server (Send).
Sends the selected study or image to the Print mode. DICOM and paper printing (Print) is available in the Print mode.
You can export the selected checklist from the list to local and external storage media (Export).
Supports various storage media such as HDD, USB, CD, DVD.

3. GETTING READY
Before running VXvue, be sure to check the detector's readiness and environment before you use it.
Refer to VIVX-S Detector Service Manual to check the detector's readiness.
1 Checking Connectivity
Check the physical connection between the VIVIX-S detector, SCU and Workstation (Computer) before starting VXvue.
2 Checking Detector
If no calibration data is loaded in the detector, the image cannot be acquired. Proceed with calibration first in VXSetup.
Check if detector power is supplied. In particular, if you are using a wireless detector, check if the detector battery is installed.
If detector calibration is not performed, VXvue can not be started or images can not be acquired. Refer to VIVIX Setup Operation Manual.
Refer to VIVIX-S Detector Service Manual for more information on connection.
3 Ready for Shooting
Make sure the X-ray generator is ready. Also, check the shooting environment so that the patient can be shot.
4 Checking Network and Wireless Status
Make sure that the network settings are configured properly and ready for network communication.
If you are using a wireless network, check the wireless status in advance.

5 Checking Preparation of DICOM Integration
If you are using DICOM Worklist, DICOM Storage and other PACS systems, check the preparation status of the DICOM server.
6 Checking Preparation of License
License registration process is required when VXvue and XIPL are executed for the first time.
Please familiarize yourself with the resources to get an online license.
7 Activating the XIPL Server
After installing VXvue for the first time, it is necessary to connect the detector and activate the XIPL server.
If the XIPL server is not activated, image processing is not available.

4. GETTING STARTED
4.1 EXECUTING VXVUE
1 Start running VXvue.
2 Wait for VXvue to finish loading.
3 VXvue proceeds as follows;
Database Connection
Checking the license registration status
Checking the detector calibration status
Checking resolution
Initializing UI (User Interface)
If you change the PC specification where VXvue is installed, a new license window may appear.
For detailed instructions on issuing and entering licenses, please contact the Vieworks’ representative.

4.2 LOGIN
1 Enter your ID and Password and click the Login button to log in.
The last logged ID is maintained.
2 Click button and enter ID and Password on the virtual keyboard (On-Screen
Keyboard)
Set up the user account in Setting> System> Account menu.
Refer to VXvue Operation Manual for more information on virtual keyboards.

4.3 LOGIN AS ER (EMERGENCY ROOM)
Click the ER button to log in.
In emergency situations such as emergency shooting, you can log in without any additional input and
proceed with recording.
When entering emergency mode, some functions are restricted to use.
Refer to VXvue Operation Manual for more information on the ER mode.

5. BASIC CONFIGURATION
VXvue has three main configuration areas.
1 Working Area
All of your work can be done in the workspace. The work area has different configurations for each mode, and when you select the desired mode
tab, the work area is switched.

2 Mode Tab Area
The user can select the mode tab according to the usage purpose and proceed with the desired operation.
The mode tabs are as follows;
Registration, Exposure, Database, Viewer, Print, Setting and Exit
3 Status Bar Area
The status bar displays the detector status and DICOM module information. You can still check the status information even if the mode changes.

6. MODE GUIDE
6.1 REGISTRATION MODE
Registration mode provides registration of patient prescription information and management functions.
1 Panel Area
Registration mode is divided into 3 panels (Scheduled, Unscheduled, Reserved) according to patient prescription information registration
method. The user can select the desired panel and register patient prescription information.

2 Search Tool Area
Users can retrieve patient information using tools for searching patient prescription information.
Only Scheduled and Reserved panels provide search tool.
3 Tool Button Area
After retrieving patient prescription information, you can use the tool button to proceed to the next step.
Only Scheduled and Reserved panels provide tool buttons.
4 Search List Area
After retrieving patient prescription information, you can see the search results in search list.
Only Scheduled and Reserved panels have search list area.

6.2 EXPOSURE MODE
The user can take images in the Exposure mode. This mode supports normal shooting mode and extended shooting mode.
General Exposure Mode
1 Study Tab Area
In the Study tab area, you can select the study registered for shooting.
Click Button, you can automatically save and close the study tab being shot.

2 Detector and Patient Size Selection Area
You can select the detector to be shot and the size of the patient to prepare for shooting.
The detector icon to be used for shooting can be selected.
The patient size icon can be selected.
3 Shooting Step Selection Area
You can select the category and the shooting area and direction to prepare for shooting.
The category can be selected.
You can select shortcut icon of shooting area registered in human figure.
After selecting the shooting area, you can select the shooting direction buttons located on the left and right of the human figure.
4 Quick Access Tool
You can adjust the recorded image with the image adjustment tool button that you registered.
The tools registered in the user image adjustment tool can be registered in the Setting mode.
5 Go to Macro-Exposure Mode
You can switch to the close-up shooting mode screen by clicking the Maximum button.
6 Image View Area
You can check the images shot in the image view area.
7 Thumbnail Area
You can check the thumbnails of the images shot in the thumbnail area. When you select the thumbnail image, the selected image appears in
the image view area.

Macro-Exposure Mode
You can enlarge the image view area to shoot and adjust the image.
1 Study Tab Area
You can switch to the selected test by selecting the study tab. Click the button to close the study tab you are shooting.
2 Go to General Shooting Mode
You can switch to the general shooting mode screen by clicking the Maximum button.

3 Image View Area
You can check the images shot in the image view area
4 Thumbnail Area
You can check the thumbnail list of images shot in the thumbnail area. When you select thumbnail image, the selected image appears in the
image view area.
5 Image Adjustment Tool Area
You can use various image adjustment tools to adjust the image.
Name Description
Step You can display and change the step of the shot image
Manipulation You can use the image adjustment tool.
Layout You can change the image display layout.
Annotation You can insert an annotation tool on the image.
Tools You can use the management tools.

6.3 DATABASE MODE
Users can view and manage the completed checklists and images in the Database mode.
1 Search Tool Area
You can use the search tools to view the study checklists.
2 Management Tool Area
You can use the various buttons in the management tools area to manage your study and image information.

3 Study List Area
You can check the searched checklist of study.
4 Thumbnail Area
You can check the thumbnail image of the study selected in the list.
6.4 VIEWER MODE
You can view and adjust image in the study selected in Viewer mode. This mode is similar to the macro-exposure mode of the Exposure mode.

You can switch to the selected study by selecting the study tab.
Click button to close the study tab.
2 Image View Area
You can check the selected image.
3 Thumbnail Area
You can check the thumbnail image of the selected study.
4 Image Adjustment Tool Area
You can use various image adjustment tools to adjust the image.

6.5 PRINT MODE
You can adjust the printout and print settings in the Print mode.
1 Print View Area
You can check and adjust the image to be printed.
2 Printer Setting Area
You can set the printer and film information to the whole image to be printed.
3 Print Image Adjustment Tool Area
You can use the print-only image adjustment tool to adjust the selected image.

4 Print Settings Area per Page
You can set the film size and orientation of a specific image to be printed.
6.6 SETTING MODE
The user can set various values in the Setting mode. This mode provides a total of 9 setting groups.

1 Group Area
Panel Description
System System information can be set.
Registration You can set information related to patient registration.
Display You can set the image related information displayed on the screen.
Tool You can set the tool information used in Viewer.
Study You can configure settings for study management.
Procedure You can set the shooting procedure information.
Integration You can set the linkage with the detector, 3rd party equipment, and external modules.
DICOM You can set DICOM information.
Backup/Reject You can check and recover the backup / delete information.
2 Setting Area
Switches to the setup screen for the selected panel.
Refer to the VXvue Operation Manual for setting each setting area.

6.7 CLOSING
1 Select the Exit mode tab at the bottom right of the VXvue main screen.
2 When the following pop-up message appears, click the Exit button to exit the program.
Select the Logoff button, and the Log In window appears so that you can log in with a different account.
Selecting the Shutdown button will shut down the system.
