The Rolls-Royce Trent 900 is a turbofan engine developed from

RB.211 is one more from the Trent engine family.

In the early 90s, Airbus began designing an aircraft that

it happened and was bigger than the Boeing 747, a plane
designated as A3XX, which was later formally presented
like A380. In 1996, the aircraft was linked to Rolls-Royce when
he decided to announce that he was developing the Trent 900 for
motorizing the A380. In October 2000, the Trent 900 became
the launch engine of the A380 when Singapore Airlines chose
this engine for your order of ten A380; which was quickly
followed by Qantas in February 2001.

Operational limitations:
• Temperature limits in operation: The engine can be used at
ambient temperatures up to ISA + 40 ° C.

In the takeoff classifications, the Trent 970-84, 972-84, 972E-

Construction Materials
COLD SECTION
For the construction of compressor boxes, inlet boxes, and cases of
accessories, aluminum and magnesium alloys are widely used
where the lowest and moderate heat is the main consideration.

These materials account for approximately 30-40 percent of the weight of the
steel.

• For fan housings, fan blades, fan blades of

compressor and compressor disk manufacturing, alloy of
aluminum is used due to its low density, high strength
specifications and characteristics of corrosion resistance.

• In the high-pressure stages of the compressor, alloys of

nickel-chromium, referred to as they are often used alloys of
stainless steel and nickel base.

• Epoxy resin materials have been developed for the

construction of cold sections of boxes and rings of the cover
where the least force is permissible and the weight is light
main consideration.

2) HOT SECTION
For this section, a variety of high-strength materials
weight has been developed, often referred to as super
alloys. These alloys have a maximum limit of
temperature of 2000℃ when not cooled and 2600℃
when it cools internally.

Superalloys were developed for use in high areas of

temperature where oxidation is high and resistance is needed,
where high thermal tensions, stress, and
vibratory.

Superalloys are complex mixtures of many metals.

Metals such as nickel, chromium, cobalt, titanium, tungsten,
carbon and other metallic elements.

Nickel
Nickel-based superalloys are used at temperatures of
760-980 ° C. The super alloys of casting have greater
long-term resistance to higher temperatures. For example, the

Iron
Nickel-iron based superalloys are used at temperatures
from 650-815 ° C. Its long-term resistance is much lower. Its
characteristics are lower than those of the other alloys.
