Common questions

Powered by AI

The dashcam offers extensive alarm and alert management capabilities with functions like IO Input Trigger, Speed Type limits, G-sensor calibration, and Driving Status alerts. Users can set trigger levels, define speed thresholds, and adjust sensitivity levels (0.01g) for detecting sudden movements. The alarms include audible notifications through buzzers with varied beep patterns and visual notifications via channel pop-ups. Configurable options allow customization such as setting alarm duration and linking outputs to specific IO devices, maximizing adaptability to different vehicle and user needs.

The dashcam uses AES256 encryption for securing video files, which is disabled by default. When encryption is enabled, a password is required to play back the video on the device and MDVPlayer, enhancing data security by restricting unauthorized access to video footage. This encryption, however, limits playback options as the video cannot be played back using other players, ensuring that sensitive data is protected against external access.

The device's positioning module can utilize either GPS+BD (GPS and BeiDou) or GPS+GLONASS (GPS and GLONASS) systems for vehicle positioning. The use of multiple satellite systems enhances accuracy by incorporating data from multiple sources, reduces errors due to satellite geometry, and improves reliability and system redundancy. This is particularly beneficial in environments where one system's satellite signals may be obstructed or degraded, ensuring continuous and accurate vehicle positioning.

The dashcam offers multiple power management modes such as ACC, Timer, and Sleep mode. In ACC mode, the dashcam powers on/off based on the car key signal, supporting delayed shutdown to prevent immediate power cuts. Timer mode allows for user-defined on/off times, which can optimize power usage based on usage patterns. Enabling PowerProtect protects the battery from low voltage. While these modes offer flexibility and power conservation, potential drawbacks include complexity in setup and risk of incorrect configurations leading to unintentional power drain or improper device functioning.

Implementing ADAS features on a dashcam involves selecting the ADAS channel and configuring essential parameters. Users can enable features like Lane Departure and Forward Collision, set a speed threshold above which ADAS features become active, and choose an interval for detection. The sensitivity for these alerts can also be adjusted from low to high. Additionally, an appropriate IO output method is selected for alert notifications, and a buzzer setting is configured to provide audible alerts. Such configurations ensure the efficacy and relevance of ADAS features tailored to specific driving conditions and user preferences.

The dashcam's AI features significantly enhance driving safety and security monitoring. Face recognition can ensure driver identification, add a layer of security for vehicle access, and track driver presence. The Detection Management System (DMS) monitors driver behavior, detecting and alerting for unusual patterns such as fatigue or distraction. These systems rely on thresholds like speed to activate and can provide audible alerts, ensuring timely notifications. Together, they offer a comprehensive safety measure by actively ensuring driver attentiveness and securing the vehicle through biometric access control.

The dashcam's video recording plan functionality allows for tailored recording strategies by enabling users to select from up to eight plans, setting schedules on a weekly basis, and specifying start and end times. This flexibility is crucial for adapting to various vehicle use conditions such as fleet management, ensuring critical recording during business hours, and providing security during off-hours. Additionally, video recordings can be encrypted, enhancing data protection against unauthorized access, while scheduled recordings ensure efficient use of storage and battery life, aligning with specific security requirements and operational scenarios.

Setting up a wireless network connection for remote access to the dashcam involves configuring various settings under WiFi and 3G/4G settings. In AP mode, the device acts as a wireless hotspot, allowing other devices to connect, whereas Station mode allows the device to connect to existing WiFi networks. Users can choose from encryption methods like WEP or WPA, and must set parameters such as DHCP for IP address assignment. Additionally, 3G/4G settings require enabling the network, selecting the network mode, configuring the APN obtained from the SIM card operator, and setting redial intervals. These configurations cater to both device connectivity and security requirements.

To configure daylight saving time on the dashcam, users can access the "Daylight Saving Time" section in the system settings. This involves enabling the feature, which is disabled by default, and setting the mode to either "Date" or "Week" with a start and end time, defaulting to January 1st 00:00:00 for both. Enabling this feature offsets the system time by one hour, meaning during daylight saving time, the system time is delayed by one hour to reflect the adjustment.

The dashcam leverages various network settings to optimize data transmission and enable remote monitoring. It supports both wired and wireless network configurations, with DHCP automating IP and network configurations. Through WiFi and 3G/4G settings, the device can act as either an access point or connect as a client to existing networks, adjusting encryption and band selection. The CMS Platform and FTP settings facilitate data transmission to centralized systems for real-time monitoring, employing compression and stream settings to balance bandwidth use and data fidelity. This configuration is crucial for seamless integration into network environments, allowing versatility in connectivity and enhanced remote oversight.
