Coffee Keychain

CROCHET PATTERN

Skill level: Beginners Weekend Project


Materials and Tools:
Yarn 160m/50g For the cup colors: brown, white and light brown
(Suggesiton: YarnArt Jeans)
Safety eyes 8 mm - 2 pieces
Keychain hardware
Sewing pins
Tapestry needle
Polyester fiberfill
Scissors
Crochet hook: I used a 1.75mm hook, but I recommend using a
2.5mm if the smaller one is a bit difficult

Abbreviations:
Finished Size is
MR – magic ring approximately
Ch – chain stitch
3 inches tall :)
Sc – single crochet
Hdc - half double crochet
Inc – increase
Dec – decrease
Sl st - slip stitch
BLO - back loops only
X – denotes how many times to repeat the action in parentheses – ()

Notes:
This pattern uses US crochet terminology.
Every round should be continuous (NO Slip Stitch).
You can place safety eyes or embroider them with black yarn.
The circles next to the instructions are a checklist that will make it
easier to follow the pattern

Rnd 1: White 8 Sc in a MR (8)
Rnd 2: 8 Inc (16)
Rnd 3: (1 Sc, 1 Inc) x 8 (24)
Rnd 4: (3 Sc, 1 Inc) x 6 (30)
Rnd 5: BLO 30 Hdc (30)
Rnd 6-7: 30 Sc (30) (2 Rnds)

Rnd 11: Light Brown (10 Sc, 1 Inc) x 3 (36) Cut the white yarn.

Rnd 28: 8 Dec (8) Close with a tapestry needle, cut the yarn,
weave in end.
To make the edges upper part of the "wrapper" join a light brown
yarn to the back loops left in the round 17 of the cup using the hook
and do:
Rnd 1 : 1 Ch, 38 Hdc, 1 Sl st (38) Cut the yarn, weave in end.

To make the lower part of the "wrapper" turn the cup so the top
faces you. Join a light brown yarn to the back loops left in round 12
of the cup using the hook and do:
Rnd 1: 1 Ch, 35 Sc, 1 Sl st (35) Cut the yarn, weave in end.

To crochet the edges of the cover, turn the cup so the brown part,
the cover, is facing you. Join a brown yarn to the back loops left in
round 24 of the cup using the hook and do:
Rnd 1: 1 Ch, 38 Hdc, 1 Sl st (38) Cut the yarn, weave in end.
Assembling:
To make the mouth:
Take a piece of black thread about 1.5 - 2 cm long and apply
glue to it.
Wait 30-40 seconds for the glue to dry.
Roll the thread between your fingers to spread the glue
evenly and bond all the fibers together so that they don’t
stick out.
Glue this piece of thread into a wave shape on the light
brown part of the cup, between rounds 14-15.
Cut off the parts that extend beyond the 14th and 15th rows.

Place the keychain on the top of the cover.
