CALCULATION MEMO FOR SANITARY INSTALLATIONS

1. PROBABLE WATER CONSUMPTION

In accordance with the National Building Regulations - Sanitary Standards in Buildings IS+010, educational infrastructure facilities will have a potable water supply according to the
next consumptions.

1.1. AVERAGE DAILY CONSUMPTION

SUPPLY

Since it is a type of building for housing, the parameter to be considered will be based on the number of rooms at a rate of 150 liters per inhabitant per day; in offices, it will be calculated at a rate of 6 liters per.
m2 and for laundry 40 liters per kilogram of clothes establishing the following:

1.2. STORAGE AND REGULATION SYSTEM

In order to absorb the variations in consumption, continuity, and regulation of the cold water service in the building, the use of a cistern and its corresponding system has been projected.
Elevated Tank, which operate according to the water demand of users:

CISTERN

The construction of the Cistern will be designed in combination with the lift pump and the Elevated Tank, whose capacity will be calculated based on daily consumption.

TANK VOLUME = 3/4 x TOTAL DAILY CONSUMPTION

Therefore, to guarantee the necessary water storage, the following will be considered:

Volume Cistern = 1125 m3

We will assume a Tank of: 1.125 m3

ELEVATED TANK

For the calculation of the Elevated Tank Volume, we must take into account that this volume should not be less than 1/3 of the Volume of the Cistern, according to R.N.E. (section *2.4. Storage and
Regulation - Cold Water.

TANK VOLUME = 1/3 x TANK CAPACITY

Therefore, to ensure the necessary water storage, the following will be considered:

Vol. Tanque =500 m3

We will assume an Elevated Tank of: 500 L

1.3. MAXIMUM SIMULTANEOUS DEMAND

The most suitable potable water supply system for the construction of the building will be with the Indirect System: Cistern, Elevated Tank, and its corresponding Pump Equipment.
Water distribution to the services will be by pressurization from the referred tank.

The hydraulic calculation for the design of distribution pipes will be carried out using the Hunter Method.

(According to Annex No. 1 of the IS.010 Standard - Sanitary Installations of the R.N.E.)

Annex No. 1

EXPENSE UNITS FOR THE CALCULATION OF WATER DISTRIBUTION PIPES IN BUILDINGS (PUBLIC USE DEVICES)

It will be taken into account:

Toilet 3 U.G Shower 2 U.G
Laundry 3 U.G Sink 1 U.G

TYPE OF SANITARY APPLIANCE No. U.G. TOTAL

toilet 5 3 15
LAVATORY 3 3 9
SHOWER 3 2 6
sink 5 1 5
TOTAL U.G : 35

ANNEX No. 3
PROBABLE EXPENSES FOR THE APPLICATION OF THE HUNTER METHOD

To obtain the Probable Expense, the value obtained as Total Hunter Units will be taken to the tables of Annex N° 3 of the IS.10 Standard - Sanitary Installations of the R.N.P., then:

Interpolating Values:
Number of Units Probable Expense x - 0.82 0.85 - 0.82
=
34 0.82 35 - 34 36 - 34
35 x
36 0.85 x - 0.82 0.03
=
1 2

X= 0.839

Therefore: Qmds = 0.84 L/s

1.4. DIAMETER OF DISTRIBUTION PIPES
An average flow that passes through the sanitary installations will be assumed, according to IS.010 - R.N.E.

Qp = 0.12 lt/s
(According to section 2.4. Distribution Network - IS.010 - R.N.E)

For the calculation of the distribution pipe diameters, the minimum speed will be 0.60 m/s and the maximum speed according to the following table.

DIAMETRO (mm) Maximum speed (m/s)

1.5. PUMPING EQUIPMENT

The pumping equipment to be installed will have the power and capacity to drive the flow sufficient for the maximum demand required.

DETERMINATION OF THE PUMP

● Pumping flow

Water flow necessary to fill the elevated tank in two hours or to supply the M.D.S. in l/s.

Qbombeo = Dotación / Tiempo de llenado

Staffing = 1500 L
Filling time =2 h (according to R.N.E.)

Qbombeo = 1500 L / 120 m

Qbombeo = 12.05 lt/m

H.D.T. = 15 m

It is adopted Power = 1/2 HP

1.6. DIAMETER OF THE DISCHARGE AND SUCTION PIPE

It is determined based on the Qb, in inches according to IS.010 Annex No. 5, diameters of the discharge pipes.

For the suction pipe, the diameter immediately above that of the discharge pipe is taken.

ANNEX No. 5

DIAMETERS OF THE PUMPING PIPES BASED ON THE PUMP FLOW RATE

Pumping expenditure in L/s Diameter of the discharge pipe (mm)

Up to 0.50 20(3/4" )
Up to 1.00 25(1" )
Up to 1.60 32( 11/4" )
Up to 3.00 40( 11/2" )
Up to 5.00 50(2" )
Until 8:00 65 (21/2")
Until 15:00 75(3" )
Up to 25.00 100(4" )

To, Q = 0,84 L/s

It is obtained:
Discharge diameter : 1"
Suction diameter: 3/4 "
