3.2. Electronic control system of the product
The product operates through an electronic control system that executes the various
functions. This electronic control system consists of the following items:
Power Module;
Temperature Sensor
Temperature selection switch (of the freezer).
The characteristics of the control system are described below:
Power Module
It is located at the back of the product inside a plastic box near the compressor.
Sua função é ligar/desligar o compressor e a resistência de degelo de acordo com a necessidade
(terms of use). The connection of the power module to the electrical network and power cable is
made through a connector, with a fit that does not allow for error.
Temperature Sensor
It is located in the freezer compartment near the evaporator. The sensor is responsible for
send signals to the power module, according to the internal temperature of the freezer, and it is
connected to the power board through the internal wiring in the cabinet.
Freezer temperature selection switch

(freezing) at two levels (normal and maximum). The switch is located on the console.
The various functions performed by the electronic system are as follows:
3.2.1. Temperature Control
The temperature inside the product depends on the amount of food stored and the
frequency of door openings. The temperature sensor that is responsible for monitoring the
freezer internal temperature, sends a signal to the power module whenever the
temperature in the freezer exceeds the selected temperature range, then the module of
power will turn on the compressor. When the sensor detects a temperature value lower than that of
selected band, the power module will turn off the compressor.
Temperature Range League temperature Shut-off temperature
MINIMUM - 15 ºC - 22 ºC
MAXIMUM - 18 ºC - 25 ºC
OBSERVATIONS
1) The product control system has a protection that only allows the compressor
be connected after 7 minutes have elapsed since your last deactivation. This prevents the
compressor tries to start while the system pressures have not yet equalized.
The temperature value is measured near the sensor and not in the center of the compartment.

When the compressor turns on, the fan turns on after 15 seconds.
When the compressor turns off, the fan turns off after 50 seconds.
After a defrost, the Compressor restarts after 3 minutes and the fan restarts after 3 minutes.
of the Compressor operation.
The fan turns off every time the refrigerator door is opened.
The fan is fixed to the rear cover of the evaporator by a screw and is responsible for
forced air circulation inside the product.
3.2.4. Port management
Whenever the refrigerator door is opened, the following occurs:
It turns on the refrigerator light.
Turn off the fan motor.
When the refrigerator door remains open for 6 minutes, the electronic control system
turn off the lamp and turn on the fan motor (if the compressor is on). From there the
the product starts to cycle normally, even with the door open. When closing the refrigerator door

OBSERVATIONS
The freezer door when opened will not turn off the fan.
because there is no activation switch in the freezer section.
3.2.5. Selection of the freezing level of the Freezer
Pressing the "FREEZER" button selects the freezing range (normal or maximum) of the
Freezer. When the button is not pressed, it indicates the normal freezing level; when
pressed, indicates the maximum level of freezing.
3.2.6. Defrosting System
The product has a defrosting system composed of the following components:
180 Watt defrost resistance,
Defrost thermostat / bimetal, opens at 15°C / closes at -6°C;
Drip tray;
Evaporation container (on the compressor).
OBSERVATIONS
The resistance is fixed to the defrost tray with aluminum tape to prevent ice formation in the area.
the bimetal is secured with a plastic strap to prevent it from coming loose during any movement.
Page 5 MSRF0059 - Launch of Frost Free Refrigerator BRM35AB
The defrost thermostat/bimetal will turn off the defrost heater as soon as the existing ice on
the evaporator has melted. The defrost heater, in turn, being surrounded by the entire
the evaporator extension thaws it more quickly.
We can call this melting system "intelligent", as it works as follows: The
the first defrost occurs after 7 hours of compressor operation, when then, this and the
The fan motors are turned off and the heater is activated. The standard time considered for
the duration of the thawing is 18 minutes. Depending on the consumer's usage habits, conditions
climatic factors etc., the amount of ice formed, as well as the duration of thawing, may
vary. Then, the product's electronic control system monitors the defrosting time and sets the
time needed for the next thaw to happen. Thus, under normal operation, the
The time between thaws is defined by the duration of the previous thaw. Given that between 2
the maximum thawing time is 24 hours. After the defrost / bimetal thermostat turns off the
resistance, the compressor takes 3 minutes to restart. This time is necessary for all
the melting water drains. After the compressor starts, the fan still waits for another 3 minutes
to start operation.
Problems that can occur during thawing: The duration of thawing SHOULD NEVER
it may exceed 40 minutes. If after 40 minutes the defrost thermostat STILL hasn't turned off the
resistance, the electronic control system does it. However, it considers this situation as a
"failure". If this "failure" repeats in 3 consecutive defrosts, the product disables the defrost function.
and raises the freezer temperature to a range of -5 to 0°C, alerting the consumer that the
the product is not functioning normally and you should call the Authorized Service. The product
it will only get out of this situation if it is unplugged. This means that there is some
problem with the components involved in defrosting (resistance, defrost thermostat, etc.), or
so from the electronic control system itself.
Similarly, if in 3 consecutive thaws, the duration of the thaw is less than 8
minutes, the electronic system will also interpret this as a "failure" and alert the consumer.
as described above.
3.3. Refrigerant fluid
The product uses R134a as a refrigerant fluid in its hermetic system. This gas is of the type
HFC (Hydrofluorocarbon), harmless to the ozone layer. In the polyurethane insulation of
In the cabinet, R141b is used. Similar to R134a, it also does not harm the ozone layer.
IMPORTANT
Only trained technicians in the reoperation of Sealed Units with HFC are authorized to
carry out maintenance on the product. Remember that the maintenance equipment and some
parts are exclusive for this type of refrigerant gas
3.4. Cabinet
The cabinet has an internal tube for heating the flange and sides, to avoid sweating.
in places where the relative humidity of the air is very high. In addition, there is a return duct
10 Watt resistance to prevent possible freezing in this region. This resistance comes from
factory linked. Therefore, the enclosure for the 220V product has a different code from the enclosure for
product 127V.
