LIFE CHANGING

FAITH BUILDER
By Pastor Prince Osagie Jonathan

When it comes to Faith, we

often conclude that you don’t
have to see it to believe it.
But that is not true. On the
contrary, you have to see it
to believe it. Seeing is
believing! If you haven’t
seen it, you can’t believe it.
Faith is seeing the reality of
the unseen. You have faith
when you have received the
spiritual comprehension of
what you are expecting. You
are seeing it and saying
what you see. Faith is
seeing.

What we need is spiritual

understanding to SEE. Once
you understand it, then that
means you can see it, and
once you can see it, then it
means you believe it, and if
you say it with that
understanding, it shall come
to pass.

Many are confessing what

they have not seen. Their
prayers are filled with fear,
anxiety, doubt and empty
confessions. Just because
you are confessing and
quoting scriptures doesn’t
mean you really believe it.
And praying without seeing
what you are praying about
is a complete waste of time.
Yes you have prayed. Yes
you have confessed the
word of God concerning the
situation, but have you seen
it before saying it?

Before you sit on a chair, you

saw it. You confidently sat
on it because you saw the
physical reality of the chair. If
someone had told you to just
sit down without seeing the
chair, you would say to the
person, “Where is the
chair?” I can’t see it. How
can I sit on something that I
can’t see? But that is what
many of us are doing.
Someone will tell you say
after me - I am rich; I am
blessed; I am the
righteousness of God; I am
holy; I am free; I am more
than a conqueror; I am the
light of the world, I am the
salt of the world; I have
eternal life; I am a child of
God; I am saved; I can do all
things through Christ who
strengthens me; The Lord is
my shepherd, I shall not
want. These and many more
are what you are told to say
before or after you got
saved.

But most of us say these

things without understanding
what we are saying.
Beloved, confession without
spiritual comprehension is
absolute confusion. Don’t
say what you don’t
understand. Ask questions.
Ask for spiritual
understanding. Ask for your
spiritual eyes to be opened.
Ask the Lord to open your
spiritual understanding. That
is what you really need. You
can change that situation.
You can move that mountain
even if all you have is faith as
small as a mustard seed.

We often talk about doubting

Thomas, who said that until
he sees the nail print in the
hands of the Lord, and put
his hands into his side,
where he was pierced, that
he will not believe. But
Thomas was not the only
one that did not believe it.
The other disciples of Christ
also doubted it when the
women came and told them
that Christ is risen. They ran
to the grave to see it. And
even when they saw the
empty grave, they still
doubted.

But when Christ appeared to

them in the room with the
doors and windows shut,
and said to them - See touch
me, I am not a spirit, for a
spirit does not have flesh
and bones as I do. Then he
asked for food to eat before
them, to further assure them,
before they could believe it.

So Thomas also needed

physical proof, that the Lord
is risen, before he will
believe it. But when the Lord
showed up again, he said to
Thomas to put his fingers
into the holes in the palm of
his hands and to put his
hand into his side and don’t
be doubtful.
So physical evidence is
required for faith in the
natural.

But faith with spiritual

evidence is also needed in
the spiritual. What we have
focused on is the faith in the
natural just like the
illustration we gave earlier
with the chair. You need
physical evidence before
you can sit on the chair. You
wanted to see the chair first,
to believe it, to sit on it. And
even after you have seen the
chair, and it looks like
something that is physically
deformed and not well
balanced, you won’t still sit
on it because you are not
fully convinced about it.

Now that is exactly how faith

in the spiritual realm is like.
Faith is the substance of
things hoped for. The
evidence of things not seen.
Faith in the spiritual realm
requires spiritual evidence
and conviction. Without
spiritual conviction, you will
have doubts about what you
are hearing or saying. Faith
comes by hearing and
hearing by the word of God.
The word of God gives faith.
But the word of God without
spiritual understanding will
only be heard but will not
produce faith in you to make
the necessary spiritual
impact in your life.

When Thomas saw the

physical evidence he asked
for, he believed. But that is
not the kind of faith God
wants us to have. The Lord
said to Thomas, that
because you see, you
believe. But blessed are
those who have not seen but
believe.

Now you will say to me, “Well

that is why seeing is not
believing because Christ
said blessed are those who
have not seen but believe”.
Yes but that is seeing in the
natural realm. You are
blessed if you can see it in
the spiritual realm. You are
blessed if you have spiritual
understanding. That is when
you can see it and believe it
without seeing it in the
natural realm.
It is a blessing to SEE by the
Spirit of God in the spiritual
realm. This is the kind of faith
you need and this is the kind
of faith that pleases God. For
without this kind of faith, it is
impossible to please God. It
is not the natural faith that
pleases God, because
anybody can have that. It is
the spiritual faith that really
pleases God. Start building
your spiritual faith on God
through Christ and not the
natural faith.
We know that all things work
together for good to them
that love God. How do we
know? We know by the love
of God in us, which is shed
abroad in our hearts by the
Holy Spirit of God. We know
by spiritual understanding
given to us by the Spirit of
God. We know because our
faith is built on spiritual
realities, through Christ not
on natural realities.

Now we have received, not

the spirit of the world, but the
Spirit of God, that we might
know the things that are
freely given to us by God.
Which things also we speak,
not in words which human
wisdom teaches, but which
the Holy Ghost teaches,
comparing spiritual things
with spiritual.
The Spirit of God opens your
spiritual eyes to see and
teaches you what to say and
how to say what you see.
Now this is so powerful.

When you see the reality of

the word of God by the help
of the Holy Spirit, you have
to say it by the help of the
Spirit of God in such a way
that it impacts your life in a
powerful way. You must
SEE to SAY it with the help
of the Holy Spirit if what you
are saying will ever make
any meaningful or significant
impact in your life.

Faith in God through Christ

Jesus, is a spiritual faith
which is active by words
spoken with power not by
making empty confessions
and praying unproductive
prayers in the flesh!

This transformative approach involves seeing and affirming spiritual truths, which makes prayers and confessions impactful. Believers are encouraged to move beyond fear and doubt by building a deep spiritual faith through Christ .

Spiritual understanding is crucial to achieving genuine faith as it enables individuals to perceive spiritual realities and not just rely on physical evidence. This understanding, provided by the Holy Spirit, allows believers to truly 'see' and believe, leading to meaningful confessions and impactful prayers. Without it, verbal confessions remain empty and ineffective .

The document advises not solely relying on natural evidence, which involves physical proofs, for faith but rather integrating it with spiritual evidence provided by the Holy Spirit. While physical evidence like touching Christ's wounds may convince at the natural level, true faith formation is encouraged through spiritual understanding, which allows belief without requiring physical proof, thereby deepening the spiritual experience and alignment with divine truths .

Pastor Prince Osagie Jonathan emphasizes the necessity of spiritual understanding to enable believers to genuinely 'see' and thus truly believe. Asking for spiritual understanding helps open spiritual eyes, necessary for genuine spiritual growth and impactful faith .

The document distinguishes 'natural faith' as faith reliant on physical evidence and experiences, akin to physical proofs like Thomas seeking to touch Christ's wounds. In contrast, 'spiritual faith' is depicted as faith that relies on spiritual understanding and seeing through the Spirit of God, without the need for physical evidence. Spiritual faith is necessary to please God, as it requires deeper spiritual insight and conviction .

The document underscores the Holy Spirit's role as crucial in strengthening faith by providing spiritual insight and understanding. The Holy Spirit opens believers' spiritual eyes to perceive and comprehend the deeper truths of God's word, enabling meaningful declarations of faith. Doubting Thomas exemplifies challenges of faith that depend on physical proofs. Initially, Thomas demands to see and touch Christ's wounds to believe in the resurrection, representing a reliance on tangible evidence. However, the document uses this to contrast with the deeper spiritual faith that Christ commends—believing without seeing—highlighting the shift from faith reliant on physical proof to one grounded in spiritual understanding .

'Spiritual seeing' involves perceiving the realities of God's word and promises through spiritual insight rather than physical senses. Pastor Prince Osagie Jonathan asserts that spiritual seeing is necessary for sincere faith because it enables believers to internalize and understand divine truths. This spiritual perception is fostered by the Holy Spirit, facilitating firm belief and effective confession .

Confessions without spiritual comprehension lead to ineffective prayers filled with fear, anxiety, and doubt. The document asserts that when individuals do not truly understand or internalize what they confess, these declarations become empty and lack the power to bring about change, seen as 'absolute confusion' .

Pastor Prince Osagie Jonathan conceptualizes faith as the ability to see the reality of the unseen. Faith requires spiritual comprehension of expectations, meaning that one must have an understanding that equates to 'seeing' spiritually in order to truly believe and manifest what is being confessed. He argues that 'seeing is believing' in faith because, without spiritual understanding, confessions are empty .
