Psychic Aspects in Astrology

Last month, I began researching 20 natal charts from online and personally known psychic readers
to examine the particular aspects that are often found in their natal charts indicated extra sensory
abilities.
Having a multitude of aspects listed below can indicate very strong psychic potential within an
individual, and this may assist you in distinguishing your particularly strongest ‘clairs’ , then you may
seek out training in that specific intuitive ability to hone in on your personal connection to spirit, or
to simply identify you’re natural intuitive gifts.
Some may have several indicators of different ‘clair’s’, and may have the ability to tap into all forms
of receiving spirits information. You are rarely ever limited to one particular method of psychic
ability, rather that a form of connection may be easier for you than others.

Astrological Rulerships and Psychic Faculties

Psychic receptivity and psychic faculties are primarily ruled by Pisces, Neptune, and the 12th House. But, they are also
tied to Scorpio, the Moon, Uranus, Pluto, the 8th and 9th Houses.
Empathic abilities are ruled by these signs, planets, and houses which are ruled by Water.
Telepathy is ruled by Neptune and Uranus, and can be present especially when these heavenly bodies favorably
aspect Mercury.
Prophecy is ruled by the planets Jupiter and Neptune, while also being associated with the Moon. It is also strongly tied
with Sagittarius and the 9th House.
Intuition is ruled by Neptune, Uranus, the Moon, and the 9th House.
Divination, on the other hand, is ruled by Neptune and Pluto.
Clairaudience is ruled by Aquarius.
Clairsentience is ruled by Neptune.
Clairvoyance is ruled by Neptune, Uranus, the Moon, Pluto, Pisces, and Virgo.
Auras are ruled by Uranus.
Levitation is ruled by Pluto.
Psychic or faith healing is ruled primarily by Uranus, but also Neptune and Pluto. Healing in general is a matter
of Mercury, Virgo, and the 6th House, but also the Sun and Mars in some respects, so when any of these rulers of psychic
healing touch the rulers of general healing the power is strengthened.
Mediumship is primarily ruled by Neptune and Pisces, but also Pluto and the Moon.
Psychometry is ruled by Taurus.
Witchraft and manifestation are ruled by Neptune, Pluto, Scorpio, and the 12th House.

Clairaudience/Automatic writing/Channeling
 Hearing disembodied voices in ones mind or externally in the environment. Tingling/buzzing
sensations in the ear. Hearing sentences, words and conversations in ones mind. Voice seems to
come from slightly above inside the mind, where as you reading this, the sound of the words in your
mind may feel as though they are coming through the centre of the brain. Hearing messages in
songs, other peoples conversations or read in books that are significant to you and your current
situation.

Claircognisent
Intuitively ‘knowing’ things about people, places and things as if the information was already

Planetary placements, houses and aspects that are important to psychic ability.
NEPTUNE/PISCES/12th HOUSE: These are often the most obvious in regards to connection to spirit
and psychic ability. Reason being is that Neptune naturally ruling the 12th house, it blurs the
boundaries between the physical ‘reality’ of the 6th house, into the realm of spirit.
Neptune’s watery energy is hypersensitive, allowing the recognition for subtle vibrations to be
identified by the body and the 5 senses (12th house sextile the 2nd house/ Pisces sextile Taurus),
though we often have a difficult time BELIEVING the psychic information we receive (12th house
square the 9th/ Pisces square Sagittarius) because it doesn’t seem logical or rational (12 house
square the 3rd house/Pisces square gemini) and therefore psychic information doesn’t seem
tangible (12th opposite 6th/ Pisces opposite virgo).
Neptune is essentially our auric field, our astral body and etherial energy, and the health of this
body is reflected by the health of our physical body (6th/Virgo/Ceres - or mercury if you use
traditional rulers).
To have Neptune in preferably an easy aspect to other planets in the natal chart such as the moon
(which is highly receptive and intuitive), the sun (identifying with the realms of the spiritual worlds)
and especially mercury (our mind, how we communicate) is quite often seen in the charts of well
balanced and strong intuitives. Neptune in easy aspect to Mars shows that one is able to take action
based on intuitive guidance.
To have harder aspects to the personal planets from Neptune can also indicate strong spiritual
connection to spirit, however this may at times be to the degree of being overwhelmed, becoming
ungrounded easily or becoming confused due to having difficulty discriminating between whats
imagined and what is true psychic information.

MERCURY/3rd HOUSE/GEMINI: “Mercury…psychic? You’re kidding right?…” Nope! Absolutely not,

in fact, from what I’ve uncovered, mercury, the 3rd house and gemini are a crucial part to psychic
ability, and even more so for readers.
Reason being…psychic ability is a form of COMMUNICATION
Essentially when you see a psychic reader or even connect with spirit yourself, you or the reader is
communicating! Having receptive planets in the 3rd house, in aspect to the 3rd house ruler or
mercury, or gemini on the 8th/12th can give an individual the ability to clearly communicate with
spirit.
The most common aspect I have seen in the charts of clairvoyants is Mercury Trine (or sextile)
Neptune, which is quite important if you need to clearly and affectively relay messages from spirits
or what you ‘see’, ‘feel’, ‘hear’ or ‘know’ to someone you’re reading for, or when reading for
yourself.
Often our strongest clair comes from the method in which we best LEARN and understand
INFORMATION. It is quite possible for an individual to have a highly intuitive chart, though if
mercury is poorly aspected, the individual may often disregard psychic information or it may go un-
noticed all together.
Hence why when it comes to enhancing psychic ability, meditation is often encouraged to ‘still the
mind and listen’ as mercury is the gateway in which we convert messages from spirit into
information - hence why this is so difficult for most people as it is a highly un-natural thing to do.
This is why Pisces forms a square aspect to Gemini - they really don’t understand each other! But in
training the mind to calm down, we can become receptive to the messages and information we

PLUTO/8th HOUSE/SCORPIO: Another recognised highly intuitive sign/house/planet. These

astrological placements are all about kundalini, raw spiritual energy, mergence with another, and
‘sharing’. In regards to psychic ability, those with (preferably easy) aspects from Pluto to the Sun,
moon, mercury and even mars, can truly dive deep into ones subconscious mind through shamanic
spiritual connection.
When I think of Pluto, I see an image of a transformative Sharman, who has a very dark and etherial
aura, who sits in silences as their glair right through your physical body into the dark corners of your
mind. You feel exposed, but locked into place as you feel as if your body has solidified. Caught in the
Sharman’s gaze, and they say - “I know you, all of you, the real you” - and with that, flashes of past
traumas, self limiting beliefs and fears all seem to purge from you all at once. You’re in tears,
shaking, and crying, though this great sense of purging brings you an immense sense of relief. You
sit down, and feel as though you are now of pure light. All that was blocking you previously has
seemingly been reaped from you from the powerful transformative energy of the Sharman.
This is the power of Pluto.
We obsess with Pluto because Pluto is obsessed with us. It wants us to let go of what no longer
serves us, and so does spirit.
The 8th house is the gateway in your chart between you and your body (opposite the 2nd) and that
of spirit and the deceased. The 8th house holds the energies in which is transmuted to our psychic
tools. Tarot cards, pendulums and other divination systems are simply another more than a 2nd
house/Taurian object - but when embedded with the energies of spirit, they become a powerful
gateway between our world an theirs.
Those with strong Pluto/scorpio energies are the souls to have a reading from in times of self
limitation and stagnation that is blocking you from getting where they want to go. These people due
to their raw energy aren’t always gentle - but they are very real, and very authentic. These people
make great reiki and energy healers, as well as psychic readers that can deeply get to the deep
rooted core of your issues.

MOON/4th HOUSE/CANCER: It is quite clear that the water signs, houses and planets play an
important role when it comes to psychic ability, as these all have a particular ability to receive
information from spirit from heightened sensitivity.
The Moon on the other hand, plays an important role to the receptivity of psychic information in
the form of emotional responses. The moon will be quite literally our ‘gut feelings’. Our emotional
responses are not always stimulated from the basis of the external environment, but is most
commonly a response to ‘thoughts’ - hence why if you’ve ever heard about the moon ruling ‘the
mind’ in other astrological posts, this is why. When we think a thought about something, usually of
a PAST experience (moon ruled), it is stimulated by an emotional response. Hence why guided
meditations are fantastic for people with strong moon placements, as they are quite receptive to
the thought provocations given by the meditation guide.
To be able to receive thought from other people and spirit is the ability to connect with the
emotional energies another person is projecting. Cancerians can pick up the underlying emotions of
another, and a greatly stimulated by instinctual reactions to their environment.
There’s a much more deeper understanding to the moon when it comes to psychic information.
One things to understand is that our moon sign, house and aspects are our subconscious
programming. You may like to research personal paradigms by Bob Proctor and Esther Hicks (and
also the moon plays a core role in our natural instinct and responses). These individuals are
teachers of the Law of Attraction, and have mastered the understand of how changing ones
paradigm (emotional state through thoughts) can assist you in manifestation (let me know if you’d

Because the moon indicates our primitive nature on the basis of self care, nurture and instinctual
reactions, the condition of our moon will indicate how well we receive intuitive information and
utilise it. Raising ones vibration in oder to meet with spirit is an act of greatly enhancing, calming
and relaxing the emotional state (moon) and the mind (mercury) in order to receive information.
Once well practiced in the art of calming the mind and raising ones vibration, an individual can then
easily tune into spirit quite easily, and without much effort. Those with Moon in (preferably easy)
aspect to Uranus, Neptune or Pluto will greatly indicate someone who can easily tap into the spirit
realm or receive intuitive information.
Uranus to the moon will indicate more of a claircognisent form of obtaining information, as these
intuitive hits will strike the individual like lightening out of no where, and sudden downloads of
information may be quite prominent.
Neptune to the moon is very, very, VERY sensitive to others and spirit. They may get much guidance
(and even care and nurture) from spiritual beings more so than those in their physical environment.
Their ability to tap into the psychic stream is phenomenal, in that they have the instinctual nature
to feel out where spirits are, and be highly receptive to others.
Pluto to the moon is again the image of the wise Sharman, who’s instinctual nature is to help heal
and transform another. These individuals can look through you like glass, and their presence can be
quite healing in of itself. These people may be on the verge of also being mediumistic, being able to
sense those who have passed on to the other side. These people are great healers, and may
sometimes enjoy working with energy and darker elements of the psyche.

ARIES: Your Psychic Talent is PRECOGNITION. You move through life with courage and without
fear. Sure you can get a little shaky at times, but this will not prevent you from meeting life
head on and at full speed. Because you move through life impulsively, you need to have a sense

CAPRICORN: Your Psychic Talent is CLAIRCOGNIZANCE. You are wise beyond your age and
this is because of your ability to just know something without logic or facts. It’s more like an
inner knowing for you. You just know when something isn’t right or someone shouldn’t be
trust; you just know when you shouldn’t do something or that someone shouldn’t do
something because something bad will happen. Your cautiousness is mostly because of this
psychic talent, and it helps you a lot! More often than not you’ve been right about things too.
This psychic ability also gives you very strong intuition that helps you climb through life.

AQUARIUS: Your Psychic Talent is MEDIUMSHIP. Your wisdom goes beyond your time, your
peers and such, and this is because of your talent to communicate with the spirits and energy
around you. Your wise words are gained by the spirits that flow through your stream of
consciousness. You know that there is something more than what we see but you’re not exactly
sure what– you take it in regardless. It can be scary to let your self go to this ability because
you prefer being rational, but you gain so much if you allow yourself to just listen to what is

PISCES: Your Psychic Talent is CLAIRSENTIENCE. You are sensitive to your surroundings, you’ve

sensitivity is very strong and you must keep others from overpowering and drowning your own

Psychic abilities are a controversial subject and even those who believe in or possess psychic
abilities disagree about what exactly makes an individual psychic. Nevertheless, these positions in
one’s Natal Chart are thought to perhaps bestow or at least indicate psychic abilities.
Those with four or more of these positions in their chart likely have abilities that go beyond the
normal, but just one strong position is all that is needed, especially when the individual is aware of
their abilities and willing to work on them. This guide also adheres to the assumption that within
each of us there is a potential for psychic abilities, thus I included positions which indicate a strong
interest in cultivating this potential but may not indicate any extra preternatural capabilities.
Inner planets will be more potent and personal than outer planets unless they are well aspected.
These are only specific placements of planets, the relationships between the heavenly bodies also

Sun:
Sun in the Eighth House: There is less innate psychic ability associated in this placement but
overwhelming potential. Sun in the Eighth House gives natives an intense desire of and interest in
the preternatural. They want to know the unknown, to control it, and are the type who can
recognize the innate psychic ability that is in each of us. This interest and ability will only grow with
them.
Noted psychics with this position: Edgar Cayce, Saint Bernadette, Sylvia Browne
Sun in the Ninth House: These natives will always be interested in spiritual and religious matters.
They are often gifted with intuition so strong that their words can be prophetic. They have an
overall understanding of society beyond what is natural.
Sun in the Twelfth House: Born with an innate connection to what is beyond life, these individuals
may display preternatural knowledge or cultivate it within themselves.
Nostradamus
Moon:

Moon in Cancer: The Moon is at home in Cancer making this a strong placement. Natives are so
sensitive to the emotions of others that it cannot merely be explained away by a “soft heart”. Those
with a Cancer Moon are often empaths or strongly intuitive. They can feel, sense and even adopt
the emotions of others.
Moon in Aquarius: Individuals with this Moon Sign are gifted with the remarkable ability to feel the
needs of humanity. They may have moments of preternatural knowledge.
Moon in Pisces: This is perhaps one of the most psychically sensitive positions an individual can
have. Natives are at least slightly empathic. They are remarkably and dangerously open to those
around them. They soak up energy, thoughts and emotions as soon as they come in contact with
them. It is highly important that this native find a way to protect themselves. If the Moon in Pisces is
afflicted these abilities are unreliable.
Moon in the First House: This individual is highly susceptible to outside influences. They are capable
of psychic or empathic powers due to their sensitivity.
Moon in the Eighth House: This position will grant an individual remarkably intense psychic
abilities. Death, life and the unseen will be clear to this native.
Moon in the Twelfth House: Psychic and intuitive, this native has natural ability and great potential.
Mercury:

Mercury in Cancer: A native of Mercury in Cancer will have a very strong intuition that will border
on if not be psychic. They are likely empathic and highly susceptible to the emotions of others, often
taking them on. Again, for these natives, protection is key.
Mercury in Scorpio: Another position bringing a strong interest in harnessing their natural abilities.
Mercury in Sagittarius: Highly intuitive to the point of their insights being prophetic.
Mercury in Aquarius: An individual with this placement has an open mind, and not just in the
traditional sense, also the supernatural. A native with this placement is united with the universe,
they recognize that they are a part of the whole and are capable of transcending physical

Mercury in the Twelfth House: Natives are likely to be influenced by their past lives even if they
don’t fully realize it. if Mercury is aspected by Neptune, Uranus, or Pluto, especially through sextiles
or trines, it will grant natives psychic abilities.

Venus:

Venus in Pisces: Venus is exalted in Pisces making for a truly remarkable native. They will feel a
deep connection to humanity and the universe. They not only possess empathic tendencies but
recognize the connections between all life forms. They are capable of tapping into other dimensions
in many cases.
Edgar Cayce
Jupiter:

Jupiter in Pisces: If Jupiter aspects Uranus, Neptune, or Pluto, there is a chance of psychic ability, at
the very least intuitive abilities. They are capable of accessing higher dimensions.
Jupiter in the Sixth House: Often natives have a gift for healing that goes beyond what is typical.
Spiritual healing, energy work, and similar practices will come naturally to them.
Jupiter in the Eighth House: When aspected with Uranus, Neptune, or Pluto, individuals are capable
of telepathy and reaching higher dimensions. Astral projection likely comes naturally.
Helena Blavatsky
Jupiter in the Twelfth House: Intuition and psychic abilities are likely but will need to be developed;
if Jupiter aspects Uranus, Neptune, or Pluto these abilities are more likely to be present and strong.
Saturn:

Saturn in the Eighth House: Negative psychic experiences such as uncontrollable astral projection
are common.
Uranus:

Uranus in Aquarius: Uranus rules Aquarius making this a position of remarkable power. The natives
of this position are insightful and capable of working with energy. Many may be Indigos, individuals
capable of recalling past lives and believed to be here to do good, especially if Uranus aspects the
Sun or Moon.
Uranus in Pisces: Natives are gifted with a strong intuition. Prophetic dreams or astral projection
are possible. They may be caught up in their past lives.
Saint Bernadette
Uranus in the First House: Intuitive abilities are highly likely in these individuals. They have
potential for psychic abilities but they are not likely to be potent; natives will need to hone their
abilities.
Edgar Cayce
Uranus in the Third House: Natives may experience sudden prophetic visions.
