Greetings from the deep blue sea! I am excited to report that the crew and ship are performing exceptionally well conducting our mission in support of our nation's defense. The crew has successfully met every challenge so far with enthusiasm and dedication. The crew is busy completing qualifications, training as a team and working hard to keep LOUISIANA in top shape. Each of you can be proud of your sailor's accomplishments as we continue our patrol.
From the last time I wrote you until now, 23 members of our crew advanced/promoted to the next higher pay grade. Congratulations to MM2 Branfoot, CS3 Crutcher, LTJG Divittore, ET2 Duffy, YN3 Eagerton, MM2 Ginnings, LS3 Gukich, MM2 Halter, LT Hannah, LTJG Hanson, STS2 Harris, ET3 Hegedus, MM2 Jesse, ET2 Jones, LT Kiewel, LTJG McCoy, ET2 Newstrom, EM2 Ohara, ET2 Paoli, EM3 Phan, MMCM Skelton, STS3 Wedgewood, and ET2 Winn for their hard work - Well done! July 4th marks the 236th Birthday of our nation; it is a time of great celebration marking another year in the history of our great republic. With the summer in full swing, I hope that all of you are taking the time to enjoy the great summer and all that it has to offer. Stay safe - we are out at sea defending our nation with great pride. Please keep the emails coming - we are excited to hear all the great news from home. As always, we may not be able to get back with you in a timely manner but rest assured we will be in touch with you when opportunities arise. LOUISIANA (GOLD) Families, As I write you LOUISIANA and her crew are underway meting the Nations call of Strategic Deterrence. We have tackled each task with great vigor and are achieving outstanding results. Our sailors have also had the opportunity to mentor, train and expose a host of midshipman into the daily ongoing of submarine life. Congratulations to Petty Officers Wedgewood, Iannuzzi, and Hagenbrock and their families on the birth of their children. Additionally, Chief Fox reported aboard as the Electrical Division Chief and Petty Officer Holdorf as the Reactor Controls Division Leading Petty Officer, help me welcome them aboard. The following Sailors have reenlisted: Petty Officers Bombard, Halter, Gates, Arregui, McDaniel and Chief Rhoads. Additionally, Petty Officer Eagerton, Johnson and Hegedus have qualified submarines, while Petty Officer Neumann has been advanced to Second Class Petty Officer BRAVO ZULU, these achievements mark noteworthy milestones in each of their careers. As we continue our at-sea operations, I expect that there will be even more achievements, qualifications and accolades to report.
