This five step system encourages each student

to think about the choices they make.


 Star with a smiley face
 Making great choices: each student starts
here every day
 Friendly Reminder: first warning before
moving their star
 I need to think about my choices: second
warning – student will move star to
yellow and take 5 minutes to reflect on
his/her choices.
 Stick to the rules:student moves star to red
and writes a letter home about choices
made and what better choices will be
made the next day. Parents please sign
and return.

comfortable reading on his/her own
Practice math facts (both addition and subtraction) throughout the week

2nd grade teachers will assign projects,
book responses and activities to do at
home. Students are usually given 1-2
weeks to complete these projects

time so I can modify my plans to include
the treat.
