UP Tourism

Uttar Pradesh has a rich cultural history and is home to several important religious sites like Ayodhya, Mathura, and the Taj Mahal. The tourism department aims to promote the state's historical and cultural attractions, provide good facilities for tourists, and enhance private sector participation in tourism. Some popular tourist circuits developed by the government include the Buddhist Circuit, Braj Circuit, and Sikh Panth Circuit. While UP benefits from established tourist destinations and infrastructure, it faces weaknesses like underdeveloped tourism in some areas and poor infrastructure in others. Opportunities exist in leveraging events and promoting intra-regional travel, while threats include political instability and security issues.
