Definition of Drama
According to the dictionary of Indonesian
poetry or prose drama is being staged
through staged acting or dialogue that
hopes to describe the nature of the
characters / actors in the drama.
- The drama itself is composed of various kinds,
which comedy, tragedy, and melodrama.
- Drama can be applied in several places (media)
are: Film, stage, Cinema and Television
Character
Character is a personality or role
an actor/ actress re-creates.
Three Types of Character When Viewed
From The Side of His Involvement In The
Plot Moving
Central character is a character that very potential
moving plot. Central character is the center of the
story, the causes of conflict.
Subordinate character are figures that are not so
great influence on the development of the plot,
although he is also involved in the plot development.
Background character are figures that have absolutely
no effect on plot development. His presence was just
a natural setting, turn on the backlight function.
Viewed From Nature of The
Character
The protagonist is the character who fight
for truth and honesty, as well as having
good character.
The antagonist is a character that is

temper. (Remember, the antagonist is not
necessarily bad)
The Importance of A Character In The
Story
The main character is a character in the story its
telling preferred concerned. He is the most

Additional Character is a character that appears

its presence only if there is a relation with the
main character, directly or indirectly, and only
appear to be a background story.

Major characters are

MINOR

remain monodimensional and static
(flat character)
Multi-dimensional characters display several
(even conflicting) character traits and are thus
reasonably complex. They also tend to develop
throughout the plot (hence, dynamic), though
this is not necessarily the case.
Mono-dimensional characters, on the other
hand, can usually be summarised by a single
phrase or statement, i.e., they have only few
character traits and are generally merely types.
Frequently, mono-dimensional characters are
also static, i.e., they do not develop or change
during the play.
Based On The Possibility of
Reflection In Real Life
A typical Character is a figure that is only bit
displayed state of individuality, and the more
highlighted the quality of his nationality or his
work (Altenbernd & Lewis (in Nurgiantoro 2002:
190) or something else that is representing.
Neutral Character are character that exist in the
story itself. He is an imaginary character who
only live and exist in the world of fiction
