due to the fact that
there’s no dialogue.
• Police Sirens
• eerie music
• Characters are
unmoved by police
sirens
• The cigar and the lighter create the mise en
scene
•Relate
The same character who was
holding a lighter later gets out a
gun and shoots the man on fire. He
is again the only person who draws
for a gun thus emphasising his
importance and also superiority
over all the other men.
The camera shots and mise-en-scene tell the audience that the man is
important. As soon as the truck door opens we see the man. This immediately
gives us the sense he is another man of importance and the fact that he is the
first the talk and what he says gets the crowd screaming for him backs this up.
There are shots of people stretching their arms out asking for food and the fact
that they are in these positions tells the audience the type of power this man
has. Also he is wearing the same sort of clothes the previous African American
men were wearing and so we know that this man must either mirror their
importance or if not he holds more importance
It then skips to a scene which completely contrasts the last scene.
A truck door opens and we see a man on a truck and a crowd of people below him with
their arms outstretched, the man shouts “thanksgiving” and the crowd erupts with noise. It
then cuts to a low angle shot of the man and then he starts throwing meat which could be
turkeys due to the fact he shouted out thanksgiving before hand.

Other constructive criticism:
Too financially demanding
Not enough equipment e.g. props
Not enough characters to meet the
demands of the storyline
Although comedies are quite cheap the things
that altered our decision were that:
We as a group where not confident enough
that we could make a comedy funny
enough to please our audience.
Also the things we as individuals might find
funny ,others in our group might not.
Not too financially demanding
We had a sufficient amount of
equipment to film the opening
sequence of a thriller e.g. props
characters
We were confident that we would be
able to make a successful thriller.
