HNI Investment Preferences and Trends

The document discusses a research project on understanding the investment behaviors and preferences of high net worth individuals (HNIs) in India. It outlines the objectives to understand how HNIs invest their money annually and who influences their decisions. It describes plans to sample 60 potential HNI clients and analyze their preferred investment instruments, banks, mutual funds, insurance policies and financial advisors. The findings suggest that most HNIs prefer nationalized banks, LIC for insurance, and have portions of their investments in real estate, bank FDs and unit linked plans.

Problem and Research Objective:-

• objective was to find out the HNIs (High net

worth income) group and their various mode
of investment
• The main problem was how to find out the top
twenty HNI clients from the bunch of people
without knowing them in detail.
The main things to be known from the clients were:

• There Annual income

• There Annual investment
• Who are there bankers
• There chartered accountant
• Who influence there investment decision
• What is there annual investment
Research plan-

• Designing a research plan calls for decisions

on the data sources, research approaches,
research instruments, sampling plan, and
contact methods.
• our task was to find the person who can invest
above 1 crore and more then that. So from
now onwards I started to target only to a
special segment of the people.
Data source:-

Primary data:-
• Interview
• Questionnaires.
• Secondary data:-
• Internet
Sampling Plans:-

Sample Size: - large sample give more reliable

result than small sample, so for this reason I
had taken around 60 people to whom I should
focus upon, because my target was only 30
clients.
