Core Values
– School Social Worker
– As a school social worker you must monitor the attendance of all students and attend
home visits for those who misses a certain number of days. You must also speak with
children who may exemplify behavioral concerns that may interfere with their learning.
– The focus of the social worker is advocate for those students who exemplify behavioral
concerns as well as attendance concerns.

– The focus of the school is responsibility and respect.
– The school focuses on teaching their students responsibility and respect while also the
basics of education
Ethics
– Separating your beliefs and bias for the concerns and safety of your client.
– Being able to exemplify professionalism, not only physically but also through your
communication with clients.
– Be respectful, empathize and show responsibility when working with your clients.
– Confidentiality, only discuss and disclose information about the client to those who are
involved with the student.
– Let students/clients determine their goals, the right to self-determination.
– Be informative, inform clients of their rights as well as resources that are available to them.
– Avoid any conflict and put the safety of yourself as a priority.

History
– Wagram is nearly 80-90 years old
– Prior to consolidation Wagram originally held 1-12 grade classes
– Kindergarten started at a home across from the current school, meaning the school held 1st-4th graders.
– Wagram held an ESEA Program, which was taught by the first teacher, Caroline Applegate.
– Wagram is apart of the Scotland County School Systems, and prior to the establishment of Wagram “K-5” there were a number of schools that were apart of the
growth of Wagram
– 5th-6th graders were enrolled at Shaw
– 7th-9th graders were enrolled at Laurinburg Junior
– 10th-12th graders were enrolled at Scotland High School
– About 6 years ago Wagram added two new additions to the school, such as the gym and media center.
– In 1983-1984, the old Wagram was torn down and the newer model of Wagram was in place.
– The teaching ratio at Wagram Elementary is a 15:1 ratio.
– The maximum amount of student enrolled in Wagram Elementary was about 600, and the least being 380.
– Wagram now offers more and better EC programs for kids in need, with about 6 EC teachers.
Wagram has been through many grade changes throughout its history, switching from grades 1-12, K-4, PreK-3, K-3, and K-5

– Attendance program (encourage students to have perfect attendance)
– Enforce disciplinary actions
– Bullying program (discourage bullying and encourage positivity and acceptance)
– Leadership program for 4-5th graders
– Future Direction
– Develop strong leaders so the lower grades can have someone to look up to and
examples to follow
– Enforce the needs of responsibility
– Perfect attendance will increase
