INTRODUCTION
Concrete is a composite material obtained by mixing cement, fine
aggregate, coarse aggregate and water. It is one of the most
widely used construction materials.
Increase in construction activity in the country has created
growing demand for crushed stone aggregates, it leads to rapid
depletion of natural aggregates resources.
Fly ash and GGBS are the major industrial by product with an
annual production of 100 tones per annum. So it can be converted
in to aggregates by a process called Pelletisation .
Contd.,
Almost in all thermal power plants fly ash and GGBS is produced as
a byproduct, but some amount of fly ash is used in cement industry for
manufacturing cement (PPC)and remaining is a waste
Reusing of waste materials and by-products of the material is to be
utilized. In present days squander materials is to be reused in our civil
industries.
In the present study, coarse aggregates is developed in the
laboratories using Ground Granulated Blast Furnace Slag (GGBS)
Flyash and the alkaline solution (Sodium hydroxide (NaOH) and
sodium silicate (Na2SiO3)) as ingredients.

LITERATURE REVIEW
1. R.K.MajhiA.N.Nayak 10 July 2019
The current paper aims to explore the effects of high volume ground
granulated blast furnace slag (GGBFS) as the replacement of natural aggregate
concrete (NAC).
Further, the durability characteristics of these mixes are evaluated by exposing
the concrete to various chemical attacks such as magnesium sulphate attack,
sulphuric acid attack and sodium chloride attack. Moreover, the rate of water
absorption by capillary action of the above concrete mixes is evaluated by
performing the sorptivity test.

This paper presents the effect of manufactured aggregates to concrete and a
treatment method utilized to improve the properties of RCA
Mineral admixtures were used as partial replacement of cement
The mechanical properties and durability of manufactured were improved
using the 40% replacement.
Cost analysis showed that manufactured aggregates mixtures could be less
expensive than NA mixtures.

In this paper examines the mechanical and durability properties of concrete
incorporated with treated manufactured aggregate under different curing
conditions
The compressive strength of the concrete containing manufacturedis more than
natural aggregates
Incorporating the manufactured aggregates limit the reduction in the
mechanical strength and durability of the concrete particularly under a prolonged
curing period.
GAP IDENTIFICATION
From the literature many researcher has studied on Shear
strength and durability characteristics of concrete with readily
available aggregates.
No proper research evidence for shear strength of concrete
when manufactured aggregates are used.
Very few work has carried out on the concrete mix
manufactured aggregates.
OBJECTIVES
1. To study the shear strength of concrete of concrete mix with
Geopolymer and alkali activated aggregates.
2. To determine the Durability property of concrete mix using
Geopolymer and Alkali activated fine and coarse aggregates and
conventional concrete. The durability properties are Rapid
chloride Penetration, Sorptivity, Acid and Alkaline, Permeability
tests will be determined.
3. To study the microstructure analysis is conducted to provide
objective evidence and support for fresh, hardened and durability
properties interpretations.
METHODOLOGY
Methodology of Objective 1
The shear strength of concrete will be determined by push out test. The
concrete mix will be prepared by replacing the natural aggregates by
manufactured aggregates with replacement level of 20, 40, 60, 80 and
100%
Methodology of Objective 2
The durability of concrete mix will be determined by Rapid chloride
penetration , sorptivity Water permiability test for concrete mix with
manufactured aggregates and natural aggregates
Methodology of Objective 3
The microstructural analysis will be carried by SEM ( scanning electron
microscope ) and XRD ( x Ray diffraction ). The analysis will be carried
on concrete mix to understand the behavior of concrete with
manufactured aggregates.
POSSIBLE OUTCOMES
The results may be expected that the manufactured aggregates with
concrete may expect better shear and durability characteristics than
conventional concrete
