Atmosphere

is the blanket of gases
which surrounds the
Earth.

Troposphere
• Lowest atmospheric area
• Is where the weather occurs
• The highest peak in the world which is the
Mount Everest also seats on this layer.
Stratosphere
• Where you will find the
jets and aero planes flying around
• Free of all weather disturbances
• Ozone layers is also found here.
Mesosphere
• is where meteors and other rock fragments burn
up.
Thermosphere
• is where auroras are found.
• Space shuttle can be seen in this layer. Sun's energy is
so strong at this level, having 50,000 volts that is why
we have radio signals because of this layer.
Exosphere
• is the outermost layer and extends through space.
• It is where the satellites are stationed.

Your Text Here
- You can simply impress your audience
and add a unique zing.
What do you think is the basis for
the division of our atmosphere?
The basis for the division
of our atmosphere is
Temperature Variation
Relationship between
Altitude and Temperature
Altitude
• is the height of an
object above the
surface of the Earth
(used for height of an
object such as planes)
Troposphere – 0 to 16 km,
temperature decreasing with Inversely Proportional
height.
Stratosphere – 16 to 50 km, Directly Proportional
temperature increasing with
height.
Inversely Proportional
Mesosphere – 50 to 80
km, temperature decreasing
with height.
Thermosphere– 80 to 640 km, Directly Proportional
temperature increasing with height.
Exosphere – 640 +,
temperature is increasing Directly Proportional
with height
Human Activities Negative Effects
• Effects of human
activities on our Burning of fossil fuels
Releases carbon dioxide
into the air which warms
atmosphere (coal, oil, etc) the planet, adding to
Global warming
Destroying marine life
Water Pollution that is essential for life in
the oceans.
Destroys ecosystems
and land quality while
Land Pollution
animals confuse waste
for food and get sick
Less trees to absorb
Deforestation carbon dioxide in the
atmosphere
Quiz
Mechanics: Bowl
Before a question is read, each group must raise the
pen. I will say “GO” when the timer starts and only
then the team be allowed to write the answer.
When you hear the word “STOP” the team should
STOP writing and raise their answer sheet.
