“I like the modern look of the design with the color palette representing nature. I love
the use of skylights to bring in more natural sunlight into the interior spaces of the
rooms.. The furniture choices, color palette, lighting scheme, and floor plan are all well
executed to provide just such an experience for the customer, and those choosing to rent
the meeting spaces. Thank you for your hard work in putting this proposal together.” -

The Center will use the existing deciduous trees, breezes and ventilation systems,
and natural daylight. Solar power, an efficient HVAC geothermal system, and
timers and motion sensors will maximize energy conservation. Water will be
conserved via efficient, low-flow fixtures. All materials selected for the
project are sustainable and have low emissions.

Concept Statement
The Community Health Clinic and Wexler Pediatrics will remind children of all ages
to enjoy the healthy benefits of the outdoors. The spaces will connect their occupants
with nature via a fresh, contemporary style. Warm light woods, soft blues and
greens, and natural-appearing textiles and
décor will create the tranquility associated with the outdoors. High-quality
contemporary furniture and sustainable products will furnish the flexible spaces.
The design will utilize nature murals and large artificial trees. The spaces will exude
a sustainable, comforting environment for both patients and staff.

Color Inspiration
This Pueblo Artwork uses a split-complimentary color theme with blue, orange and red, as well as
neutrals. The colors are muted, which makes them blend together well. The warm orange, red,
and off-whites balance the coolness of the blue. The neutrals create an overall calm feel while the
blue, red, and orange greatly increase visual interest and stimulation. The neutralized orange is
associated with wealth and success, appropriate for the project whose goals are to inspire self-

The aspects of universal design, code and egress requirements, and environmental design were very
important throughout the design process of this project. Universal design can be seen in the selection
and placement of furniture that will work for ADA users, as well as, children. Throughout the design
process for the transitional home, the design principles, the client’s requirements, the historic style of the Custom
building, sustainability, and the universal design and code requirements, were all taken into great Built-In
consideration to achieve a highly successful and fulfilling final design.

The new Milton Hotel will contain corporate offices and co-working spaces for its employees, located on the first and second floors on the
east side of the hotel. The first floor will have an allotment of around 4,803 sq. ft., and the second floor will be about 7,769 sq. ft., both
including the existing stairway. The second floor offices will be located directly above the first floor spaces, and there will be a connecting
sculptural staircase. The spaces will be designed to be comfortable, as well as functional, and they will allow for necessary interaction and
privacy needs to be achieved.

Concept Statement
The design for the corporate offices of the Milton Hotel will evoke timeless luxury with
designs inspired by those of the early 20th century. Art deco elements and sharp geometric
forms will dominate the spaces, reminiscent of industrialism, strength, and creativity. The
spaces will feel energized and fresh with sleek, smooth materials
and metals and contemporary office furniture. Bright visual accents, including accent
lighting and period piece or statement pieces, will provide visual interest to the otherwise Prototypical Sketches
functional, minimalistic spaces and will achieve a chicness that only comes with age. 29
