in Bangladesh. It is part of the Beximco Group of companies. Beximco Pharma was founded in
1976 and started operations in 1980.

 It has now grown to become a leading pharmaceutical company in Bangladesh, and it supplies

more than 10% of country's total medicinal needs.

 Today Beximco Pharma manufactures and markets its own branded generics for several diseases

including AIDS, cancer, asthma, hypertension, and diabetes for both national and international
markets.

 Beximco Pharma manufacturing facilities are spread across a 20-acre (81,000 m 2) site located in

Dhaka, Bangladesh.

 The Company Act , 1913

 The statutory meeting of the company shall, as required by Section 77 of the Act be hold at

such time not being less than one month nor more than six months from the date at which the
Company shall be entitled to commence business and at such place as the directors may
determine and the Directors shall comply with the other requirements of that section as to the
report to be submitted and otherwise. The first General Meeting shall be held within eighteen
months from the date of incorporation of the Company and thereafter a General Meeting shall
be held once at least in every calendar year at such time not being more than fifteen months
after the holding of last proceeding General Meeting and at such place as may be determined
by the directors.
 The company issued shares by offering shares to the public for subscription.

intestinal, cardio-vascular, anti-diabetic, NSAIDs, respiratory, CNS etc, and its products are available in
almost all types of dosage forms e.g. tablets, capsules, syrup/suspension, suppositories, ointments, eye drops,
injectables, intravenous fluids, metered dose inhalers, nebulizer solutions etc.

Disadvantages of Beximco pharmacy
1. Manufacture Limitation: Beximco Pharmacy Ltd. established since 1980 but still now they don’t
manufacture vaccine where others newest company like Incepta is one step forward from them.

2. Lack of [Link] :Beximco does not certify from U.S Food and Drug Administration (FDA). That’s why
they cannot export their drugs or medicine at United States of America.

3. Lack of U.K MHRA: The Company also doesn’t certify from Medicines and Healthcare products
Regulatory Agency (MHRA). For this reason they cannot export their drugs or medicine at United
Kingdom.

4. Lack of Incrassation:
The company established in 1980 but still now they are in 3 rd position where comparatively newest company
Incepta which established in 1999, they are now in 2 nd position. Their product incrassation is lower than
their other competitors.

5. Showing High Rate of EPS:

In their financial report they show their Earning per Share rate is so much high but actually their EPS remain
very low.
