RESUME
Starting with Vivien Thomas, a black man who was
fired from his job. He is a smart figure. Vivien had
plans to go to medical school, but was hindered by
costs.

Vivien then got a job as a janitor in a lab owned by


dr. Alfred Blalock. Dr. Blalock is an ambitious
surgeon. Long short story, dr. Blalock notice about
Vivien's interest and talent in medicine. Then, dr.
Blalock decided to make Vivien as an assistant in his
lab.
Dr. Blalock and Vivien work at John Hopkins University
of Medicine. They wants to find solutions about blue
baby syndrome (heart defect). Although Vivien had
never attended medical school, Vivien learned quickly.
He is also brilliant and skilled.
Dr. Blalock’s research about blue baby syndrome
received an unpleasant response from fellow
doctors. They think that’s an impossible things to
do. However, due to persistence of dr. Blalock and
Vivien, they both success to find a solution related
to blue baby syndrome.
They successfully performed the world's first heart surgery
on a baby with blue baby syndrome. It was a major
breakthrough in the world of medicine field. Dr. Blalock
received a lot of compliments and his name suddenly
became famous as a pioneer of heart surgery.

Laws and his photo was displayed right next to dr.
Blalock’s figure.
