Chapter I
The Problem and its Setting
Introduction
In the era of globalization and technological
revolution, education is considered as first step
for every human activity; it plays a vital role in
the development of human capital and is linked
with an individual well-being opportunity of
better living.
Statement of the Problem
The main problem of the study is to investigate the
impact of study habits on the academic performance of
Grade VII- STE students in MNHS.
Specifically it sought to answer the following queries;
1. Is study habit beneficial to Grade VII- STE students?
2. Does study habit have a great impact towards the
academic achievement of Grade VII- STE students?
3. Is there a significant relationship between study habit
and academic performance of Grade VII- STE
students?
Hypothesis
1. Study habit is beneficial to Grade VII- STE
students academic performance.
2. Study habits have a great impact towards
academic achievement of Grade VII- STE
students.
3. There is a significant relationship between study
habit and academic performance of Grade VII-
STE students.

The present study is great help to the following

Scope and Limitations
The present study was conducted at Magallanes
National Highschool, Magallanes Agusan Del
Norte. This investigation was conducted to
identify the impact and determine the factors
between study habits and academic performance
and to test if these factors help or contribute
students academic performance. Only Grade
VII- STE students were allowed to participate of
the said study.
Definition of Terms
1. Factors- one that actively contributes to an
accomplishment results or process.
2. Study habit- manner which you consistently used to
study for school or college or even for the next day lesson.
3. STE students- students who are under the STE
curriculum.
4. Academic performance- is the extent to which a student,
teacher or institution has achieved their short or long
term educational goals
5. Time management- is the process of organizing and
planning how to divide your time between specific
activities.
CHAPTER III
Methodology
Research Design
This study used a descriptive survey method
to assess socio-demographic profile such as sex,
age, name, and grade. This is an Quantitative
method of research for the present study
specially the survey studies, which describe
current conditions, characteristics of group of
people, and opinion and attitudes.
Research Environment, Population, and
Sample
The researcher conducted the study at
Magallanes National High School. It is located at
Purok 6, Baranggay. Sto Niño, Magallanes
Agusan del Norte. It is small school but
composed with about 2000 students.
Sampling Technique
The sampling method used in this study is a
Non-probability sampling which is the Lottery
method (Fish Bowl Technique). This technique
is where you listed all the names with numbers
of the respondents that you want and write
numbers again in a piece of paper and roll it so it
will be picked by the students. After picking, you
will look at the list you write with the names and
numbers of the respondents.
Ethical Consideration
In this part, it is where the researcher
make sure that this study the researcher
conduct is safe assured. This is where the
researcher only know what is the content
of the study.
Research Instrument
In the research instrument, there are 2 parts in
the questionnaire.
First, it is the profile of the respondents.
Inside the profile this is where you can see
the name (optional), their age, the date of the
day it was answered or written, the birth date
of the respondents, academic grades (math,
English, science, ESP) and the section of the
respondents.
Data Gathering Procedure
In this part, this shows the method on how the
researcher will gather the data step by step.
Firstly, the researcher will make the
questionnaire. After making the questionnaire, it
will be given to a 30 respondents of grade VII-
STE students.
