Question1.

A bracket carrying a load of 15kN is to be weld as


shown in figure. Find the size of weld if the allowable shear stress
is not to exceed 80MPa.
Question 2: A rectangular steel plate is welded as a cantilever to a
vertical column and support a single concentrated load P as shown
in figure. Determine weld size if shear stress is not to exceed
140MPa
