WHAT IS MOTIVATION?

•Motivation is the process that initiates, guides, and

maintains goal-oriented behaviors.
•It is what causes you to act, whether it is getting a glass

complete in order to satisfy a need or achieve a goal.
• Pushing away things we don’t want is a natural behavior for humans.
We are motivated to change away from a painful or undesired state.
People can be highly motivated to make huge efforts in an effort to
avoid and reduce painfully unwanted scenarios.
• Push motivators are external forces.
