Stone and chemical washing
pumice stones that are soaked in sodium hypochlorite or potassium permanganate
(oxidizing agents).
develop uniform color fading or appearance effects.
Enzyme Washing:
enzymes have contributed to improve the environmental profile of washing process
Laccase enzymes can be used as an alternative to chemical bleaching where the enzyme
oxidizes indigo to soluble degradation products.
bio-stone washing
Reduced Water Washing:
Denim cares for the environment and its operators.
New techniques like laser, ozone, etc., which use a much smaller quantity of water, are
now changing the environmental profile of the whole washing process.

Flow chart of ETP
What is ETP
ETP (Effluent Treatment Plant) is a process design for
treating the industrial waste water for its reuse or safe
disposal to the environment.
Need of ETP
To clean industry effluent and recycle it for further use.
ETP
To reduce the usage of fresh/potable water in Industries.
To cut expenditure on water procurement. • To meet the
Standards for emission or discharge of environmental
pollutants from various Industries set by the Government and
avoid hefty penalties.
To safeguard environment against pollution and contribute in
sustainable development.
Treatment Levels of ETP
Treatment levels:
Primary Treatment
Secondary Treatment
Tertiary Treatment
Primary
Purpose: Removal of floating and settleable materials such as suspended solids and organic matter.
Secondary
Purpose: To remove, or reduce the concentration of organic and inorganic compounds.
Tertiary
Purpose: Final cleaning process that improves wastewater quality before it is reused, recycled or discharged to the
environment.
